  1. Think any loans we do from now on will always been with an obligation to buy. Eddie won’t risk having players who aren’t 100% committed to the long-term. Would be interested in Bobb but prob not as our main wide forward signing. Lots of potential with serious re-sell value. FWIW the replies from City fans there suggest they are loathe to let him go.
  2. Yeah, Eddie doesn’t know himself until he’s sat down and had formal discussions re these power lines. So any predictions of doom from Edwards, Hope, Downie etc are complete conjecture from journalists who prey on uncertainty. If Eddie doesn’t know, how do they know? He likely has a good idea, he knows the club are acting in good faith. He just wants power structures formalised with agreed working principles going forward so that no one is in the dark about what their roles are. He just hasn’t had a chance to do that yet as he’s been at this training camp.
  3. Having watched three interviews now, this is my opinion. He’s fully committed to the club. He’s not said he’s unhappy, he’s not said he’s leaving. He’s said the opposite. He literally said “England is not important”. For me that means, get things right here and England is irrelevant. He’s a little unsure of how the new structures are going to work and wants to see where power dynamics are going to settle. There are a lot of moving parts atm and he needs to be sure of roles and boundaries in this new setup. Basically he doesn’t know how things are gonna’ play out because he hasn’t had the chance to get to know PM and JB yet. For me it’s up to the club, Mitchell, Bunce etc to give him these assurances. Mitchell and Eales have both talked about giving Eddie the best possible platform to succeed on the pitch and they want him to concentrate on what he does best, which is coaching. I don’t know if this means that he’ll have less say in transfers. I wouldn’t think so. It’ll be totally collaborative. Howe should always have the last say imo. I don’t think Eddie is so obsessive that he’ll allow no interference whatsoever. He said, and always says he wants what’s best for the club. He’s not going to spit his dummy out. He’s a solution focused individual who will work with what he’s given, he’s shown that. It’d have to go very sour and his role to be completely diminished for him to leave. I am positive but I can’t deny my feelings that the interviews have left me a bit unsure of the future. We’re going to have to be patient. Wait to see how the window plays out, the first month of the season. I think he’ll stay. If he gets offered the job I think the club will push the boat out for him and show him the love.
  4. Says he didn’t even know Southgate had left but as long as he’s supported at the club then he’ll stay. Also says there’s been zero destabilisation of anything. One in the eye for Luke. But of course we all knew Eddie would have no probs with Mitchell coming, AS going or anything else because he’s a consummate professional.
  5. Literally, the actual article just says “Newcastle might be interested”
  6. Was gonna post the same gb. You REALLY have to have done something wrong for Howe to completely discard you as someone he just can’t fix.
  7. Is it Tent Alexander-Arnold?
  8. Lucky Gordon missed out on this trip if bikes are involved
  9. This is what I thought. Luke, the true faith lot are throwing their toys out of the pram because AS and MG have left. They used to get invited to stuff by them and hang around on the train with them after away games probably getting little tidbits of info. They’re just coming across as petty now.
  10. Eddie after “not being consulted over Mitchell”.
  11. To sum up, Howe had no clue about Mitchell and so therefore must be fuming, yeah obviously Luke. Howe’s unwavering professionalism straight out of the window despite him repeating many times that he’ll support whatever the club thinks is in its best interests. He's just gonna’ blank Mitchell in the canteen isn’t he? He’s been “hit hard” with AS leaving. Doesn’t sound like Eddie at all Luke but go on. Arguments, stress and tension and a dark cloud have hung over the summer. Has it? That’s the actual weather Luke. Not NUFC. See this is why people don’t like him. He takes any ounce of apprehension, uncertainty or dissatisfaction within a section of the fanbase (or his own head) and then slaps out divisive, angst ridden crap with credible evidence stretching no further than “it’s thought” or “understand that”. It’s like he takes all the good things about the club and how it is run and just goes “but what if it wasn’t?” and calls it real journalism.
  12. I know but also so good
  13. Has anybody else ever seen this
  14. Looks like a weight has been lifted off his shoulders
  15. Confirming there that we are now PSR compliant. There was some uncertainty in the couple of days after the deadline over whether we’d done enough. I never believed the club were that naive and underprepared to let us fall foul of this stuff.
  16. Yeah I think they’re trying to get Ramsey from Villa as well. Wouldn’t surprise me if they were one of those that bid for Toney at some point. Emerson Royal seems to be on his way out. They’ve had a time of it replacing Trippier. Don’t think they’d be too sad for Richarlison to go now too.
  17. Archie Gray from Leeds and Lucas Bergvall from Djurgarden. Sent Joe Rodon out to Leeds as part of the Gray deal.
  18. Previous quotes from Eddie on this very situation, just to assuage a few “It is not on my radar at all. It is all Newcastle and trying to make this team better. I have always said I love the day to day coaching, love being with the players on the training ground, international football you get that taken away for long periods. At this moment in my life that is not something I want to do.” He ain’t fkn leaving
  19. Uh huh, and who’s sending you these thoughts Will? Are they with us right now?
  20. Crushing defeat to the team currently 11th in Norway’s Eliteserien. Great start for Ashworth.
  21. I do remember either Reuben or Ghodoussi tweeting that Emenalo was never even considered.
