If 1900 people aren't turning up we must be using mackematics for the attendance figures, that's probably somewhere like 15 - 20 seats per block which would be pretty obvious and noticeable even if they were dotted about. Maybe it's true that certain turnstiles just open and let anyone in when it starts getting busy, just don't tell the safety officer! I also reckon they haven't considered when the digital reader on the turnstile fails in that. A few times it's happened to me since we went digital where they've just checked the ticket and been keeping a tally of numbers going in, but if they've just looked at "ticket scan rate" or something here on a computer screen then that might make sense. Hope it wasn't too painful an evening!

I've long wondered that and always assumed it was just an excuse for UEFA to have some pomp and circumstance and a bit of artificial theatre. I suppose officially they might say it's to avoid predictability if it's obvious where teams are going to finish, but then they'd also say that part of the appeal of the new format is that uncertainty remains until the last game anyway, so who knows.

In the non-football world he'd be a classic procrastinator. Loves a self-help/psychological book but then instead of going and doing it, picks up the next book, so plateaus and never improves. But he always talks well because he's swallowed the full latest guide to elite mindset he read last week. A good sports psychologist needs to get stuck into him and understand what's going on, whether it's underlying anxiety or fear, something else, or is it just that he's a billy big time, as he's just all in his own way at the minute.

Couple of things I've thought for a while. Although our press generally works, I'd like us to not press high by default. Drop off, stay more compact, and press more off triggers. Lessens the physical load on the players, leaves fewer gaps if they do get out, leaves less space behind, means we're closer together to play a pass when we win the ball and there's more space in behind to play a killer ball first time. No Shit Sherlock award here...we're far too easy to play through, which becomes even more frustrating when we're so slow and sideways so often with the ball. It's one thing Barcelona playing through the lines and being straight at your back 4, but fucking Fulham and West Ham is another. But that's the flat midfield which Howe won't change. Appreciate he won't change the press either like 😂
