It might not be too bad, who knows. Howe basically said he needs another scan in 10 days so it's not going be a short-term [i.e. less than 10 days] but they don't know apart from that. Cold be he just misses a game or two. Watch him be out for 3 months now.

Presume he'll start showing up on my youtube feed now doing podcasts with Pulis and Allardyce.

So Burn vs Minteh against Brighton? Those guys are going to be targetting the far right so hard Farage will sue them for copyright infringement.

SJP badly needs an ASBO section.

I'm just glad I'm a white male so whatever I do I'm unlikely to be written off as a tick box exercise, even if I haven't represented my country 161 times. Also there's a chance Roy Keane might not just talk over the top of me if I ever meet him.

If banning people for sticking up for Pardew is woke then I'm voting National Wokecialist in the next election.

Acording to Chat GPT (which thought he was still at Werder Bremen): "Lines on the Pitch" by Nick Woltemade’s Feet I write not with pen, but with pressure and pace, With a drop of the shoulder, I carve out my space. On grass-bound parchment, defenders I turn, Each flick a stanza, each sprint a burn. My meter is measured in meters run, My rhyme in the rhythm of goals I’ve spun. A backheel is a comma, a volley—exclaim! My boots spell stories in the heat of the game. Where others see tactics, I see a line— To be danced on, not crossed, in tempo, in time. I chip and I feint, my verses unfold, In stadiums echoing legends retold. When final whistle writes the last refrain, The scoreboard holds my fleeting gain. But rewind the tape, and you might just see A poem etched in motion — by number 29’s feet.

Well yeah, but I have some memory of Chelsea having chance after chance and Jackson ballsing them up repeatedly as they just needed to do the anti-Ange tactic of: play ball over the top. Profit.

It's football, anything can happen, but we've got to be strong favourites here.

Probably not, and I wouldn't want him here, but Spurs also has a horrific injury crisis, fobbed the league at the end to focus on Europe and only a -1 goal difference so they probably got quite a few less points than they actually deserved. Not at all surprised he was sacked (I was desperately hoping they'd keep him after the Euro win), it was a dreadful league campaign. But he's not Wayne Rooney, he actually does have a lot of managerial experience and past success. So I wouldn't write him off completely just yet. I hope Forest don't anyway, though I feel like their Chairman's not reluctant to pull the trigger.

I think the main difference is that on the left is he has an inverted winger, which gives him space outside. On the right he's tended to be behind Murphy who also wants to stay wide so they tread on each others' toes a bit. Same reason we got the best out of Trippier when he was paired with Miggy; Miggy cutting in and looking to make off the ball runs, plus his general neat and tidyness on the ball opened things up for Trips to be successful. I think Tino also likes to angle infield a bit on the left to stand up a defender and then as he pushes off with his right to accelerate he uses that movement to take the ball with him at the same time. He likes that move and he's perhaps more comfortable using his right to do it. Anyway, Tino's a great 1v1 defender and athlete. His main issue for me is that he's a dilly dallier on the ball. Usually wants a few touches. I'd like it if he could pass quicker and more decisively.

Think it's harsh to call Ange a proven dud, he's had a successfuol mangerial career in a lot of places. Obviously his first stint at the very highest level went a tad south, but he did still fluke a trophy, and as Napoleon would say, 'give me a lucky general over a good general'. Feels like with him it's a question of can he become more flexible in his approach. Hopefully not and he sends Forest down (even though I like Forest) and we can nab Anderson back.
-
He's always like that after a defeat mind. He was like that after his great start at Spurs but they had 2 sent off vs Chelsea and lost as he insisted on keeping a suicidally high line.
-
You're not accounting for the fact that Ange has greek heritage, which is seemingly very important for some reason.

Yeah, but think of it like this: Burn's been absolutely solid at CB. I personally think his limitations on the ball are more of a hindrance than Pope's, but defensively he's a rock, so how do you drop him to get Botman in when he's playing well? But Burn plays a bit at LB and Botman plays at CB. Botman plays really well at CB. Now it's not as easy to say Burn can't be dropped, because it's harsh to drop Botman from CB as he's playing well. We all know Botman's the future at CB, Hall's the future at LB. And both could be the present too. There's just a bit of squad management to be done. A bit of the human touch. We only have one specialist LB so I can imagine Burn being moved to a more covering role covering CB and LB when needed, allowing Botman to regain his starting place (injuries permitting) and allowing Hall to build up to playing full time again.

Championship's nailed on next year.

You guys have basically been copying us but a year behind since Emery took over. Last year we had a very unsettled summer, had to sell a homegrown talent to balance the books and struggled at the start of the year. Then things started to click and we had a great year. Think you'll be fine, keep the faith.

Sign this guy, Curva knows his stuff. Hell, sign Curva as a scout.
-
Really like watching him play. He likes the physical side and always wants to get on the ball and be involved. Even when he doesn't score he'll probably still make some mark on the game.
-
Botman is pure class. Our best CB IMO.

Glad he's getting regular game time. He's obviously got some rough edges, but he's got a lot of really good things to his game too, he needs some game time and experience to develop the mental side.
