    NUFC Transfer Rumours

I doubt he will come, I also doubt we want him. But I’d rather have him than Dubs cos weird as this is, I like us to win as it makes me happy. I’d be happier winning with Pickford than I would be constantly losing and throwing games away with Dubs.
  2. Every team relies on their keeper, that’s why Liverpool and Man City have the best 2 keepers in the league and Arsenal have upgraded Ramsdale this season. Every top team has a top keeper. We’d have won in 96 if we had one. As for the money spent, it doesn’t go far these days if you analyse player transfers since 2022. This isn’t Chelsea and City buying the league.

    Alexander Isak

Is he a modern 9, is he a 10, or a wide man. Has great versatility, but I love and want to see him score more scruffy 6 yard goals like an out and out poacher. I’m not so sure we build the team around him, as let him evolve around the team. Could play total football.
  4. I honestly can’t praise them enough today, with the players we have out, and the injuries we picked up today, to come back from 3-1 down to win like that. Something else. Whose that team we call United…
  5. We’ve had limited ability to pick one up if the rumours we are at our FFP limit is true, and as GKs don’t normally get injured the only real window to do it was January. Personal opinion as I don’t watch them train, but I don’t understand why we haven’t given Karius a run. Honestly he can’t be any worse. FWIW id be very surprised if the next GK we sign doesn’t cost over £30m, and we might have 2 first choices fighting it out. One for league and one for cups which will be fun.
  6. Tough call for the starting keeper next season. If our long term target becomes available I think we will bite. Love Nick Pope and this could be harsh on him. i still struggle to get over Dubs deserting us for Manure, and he really hasn’t covered himself in any glory since despite an undeserved extended run. I thank him for what he did for us under Rafa, but his day has gone.

    Lewis Hall

Looked very good today, hope to see some more positive cameos over the rest of the season, and then to build on in future. He is still a work in progress and it could be a few more years before he fulfils his potential. let’s treat him with kindness if he does follow up with a mistake somewhere down the line.
  8. I’m not convinced, he pulls off the odd great save, but is slow to dive down such as against Bowen today, Bournmouth and again in mid week, and he lets a lot go through him such as against Everton and Kudos today. I strongly believe that Pope saves a lot of the goals we have conceded since injury. The sweeping isn’t addressed because Dubs won’t sweep, he should have cleared out their equaliser today no problem. Considering we spent £400m, which £30m did you want spending on a second choice gk, not being funny, just curious as we don’t have a bottomless pit of money and their are a lot of positions to improve still.

    Anthony Gordon

The second yellow might have been genius then waiting for the match to be wrapped up before getting a ‘deliberate’ second yellow. If he gets through to 32 games and only has to serve a 1 match ban, and gets a days deserved rest too against the scouse mackems who were only going to kick the living daylights out of him.

    Anthony Gordon

I’ll reserve judgement till the end of next season. Turned up unfit after being messed around pre season at Chelsea, and I was impressed with his cameo today.
  11. I’m sad to highlight it, but the goalkeeping situation has magnified this many fold. I’m convinced we have the worst starting keeping in the league by some margin as Dubs has regressed. It’s like starting every game on -2 goals.

    Harvey Barnes

Second today was Kevin De Brynesque. Beautiful technique.

I know I’m biased, but I can’t see why any young player wouldn’t want to sign for us to play and develop under Eddie. The pathways from schoolboy to first team are opening up and Anthony’s progress this season surpasses any expectations despite our indifferent form as a team. I’d love to see the elite managers and media darlings get a song out of BDB, Jamal, Sean Longstaff, Miggy and all.

    Papiss Cissé

I was desperate to sell him after that first beautiful half season never mind by the end. Every goal he scored was a worldly in that spell, and there was no way it could continue. I’d tell anyone who’d listen I’d sell him to Man City while his stock was high and they all thought I was simple. With hindsight, fat Mike would only have taken the profit for another retail purchase instead of building the club, so with reluctance I think keeping him was for the best even though he never hit those heights again.
  15. Whoever they bring in is likely to be a step down. Hoping for a collapse similar to when Wenger left Arsenal
  16. Just a possibility, I’m not itk but spotted this on one of their sites. https://www.westhamzone.com/matchday/west-ham-united-v-newcastle-lucas-paqueta-and-nayef-aguerd-injury-news-emerges/
  17. I’m sure he wants to stay, he is a hero here. But I also thinks he will want to win trophies, and for that he needs to leave. I hope he goes to Real Madrid and fulfils his dreams when the time comes to say goodbye. Our trajectory is too slow to be a superpower during his career. As brilliant as Bruno is, I’m not even sure we play to his strengths, and expect him to kick on again when he is surrounded by better players. if he does leave, the key will be getting the right mix of players in to progress again, we absolutely can’t spunk it up on dross.
  18. If they are missing Kudas, Paqueta and Aguerd, as well as Alcaraz that’s quite the boost. Be interesting what team they put out, I genuinely think with a more forward thinking manager they are on a par with Villa.
  19. Let’s all laugh at Manure. They might bully and exert pressure on the premier league to get their inequitable demands met, but the way that club and fan base have handled the very unprofessional and public pursuit and unsettling of our contractually employed DOF is crass. The fall out and petty comments from them are hilarious. £20million is nothing if they seriously think that Dan is going to improve them from challengers to champions. Their new ownership are coming across as cheap and extremely classless - long may it continue.
  20. It’s simply a witch hunt at this point and I am bemused it has taken the best part of 6 months for our FA to release this statement. Though in fairness I am sure the ban will be concurrent. like Paul Merson has highlighted, Sandro is mentally ill and needs support, not to be chastised for misdemeanours before he was initially charged. i await the FA statement banning all gambling adverts at Professional Football Stadiums and sponsoring TV coverage, which if they are serious about this issue they need to knock on the head.

Gordon gives this team great balance, definitely deserves to play at this level. Not so sure about the cart horse behind him.

Bellingham having to crock a superior midfielder.
  23. Leicester are a funny one, they were the blue print and aspiration that you could break in and challenge for / win trophies. In the dark days they gave me hope. However, they mugged us off royally with James Maddison, and so I have absolutely no sympathy. They knew the rules and chose to ignore them, throw the book at them.

It’s time to become good sellers to create the wiggle room to improve more areas. Sometimes we need to sell the player we don’t want to sell. Not saying Bruno or Isak. We just can’t be sentimental and live in the past.
