    Marc Guehi

Just to play devils advocate… Botman was a top 5 league winner with champions league experience, at a younger age. Are England really a much better international side than Holland. Guehi has only played regularly at one tournament and got in through injury’s. Botman arguably only missed out on a place in the Euro 24 squad because of injury.
  2. How many adult tickets can you buy with each kids ticket, is it just one or is it more? We have a massive family section.
  3. Miggy, we thank you for everything you have done with us, but Father Time has come calling on your Premier League career. Hope you enjoy many successes in a less challenging league and environment.
  4. Murphy is fine as a squad player / rotation option, he is versatile, humble and a great lad for the dressing room. Got a bit of talent too. We don’t want to overburden him and rely on him for every 90mins in a gruelling season though.

    Kieran Trippier

Hate to upset folk, but we need to be good sellers. Tripps has been brilliant for us, but he’s coming to the end of his career and it’s debatable if he is first choice anymore. Put simply he probably isn’t worth his wages and holding onto him too long is financial suicide. We might be operating a one in and one out transfer situation now. We can’t afford to be sentimental as a club if we want to compete, and we need to get the best money for players. The top clubs are ruthless when they need to be, if we want to ever get to that top table we need to sell our loved stars at the optimum time, as well as the has been waifs and strays. Of course if you all agree, we could double season ticket prices and then keep the likes of Trippier and Miggy, but I guess we don’t love them that much. After all it’s much easier to spend someone else’s money than your own.
  6. What an outstanding save, and then Jacob Murphy at it again
  7. Our best right winger nearly 3 years after the take over is Jacob Murphy. Funny, tragic, endearing… nice goal.
  8. Would be my guess… curious if Hall gets a go preseason in midfield what it means for his future.
  9. Very sad for their fans. A good opportunity for someone seeking a multi club model?
  10. I’m still waiting for the club to let me know…

    U23s & Academy

When I was a bairn it was known as a dirty sanchez.
  12. TPTB should chuck Chelsea out of Europe, and deduct points with immediate effect - they are most likely cheating, at best abusing their position in a corrupt system. I do however give them huge credit for both ingenuity and having created such an outstanding youth system. I don’t really have a problem with Man U having debt, as long as their auditors sign off and agree they are sustainable. However, they really ought to be repaying external debt in keeping with the assets it relates to, so player purchases debt should be repaid over say 5 years. If as is likely the debt is to the owners, from owner investment, then I guess they can kinda do as they please, it ought to simply devalue the club. (I think we all know that most of that debt was from the Glaziers purchasing it on the tick, which should not be permitted, but was when it happened so hard to do much about it).
  13. Call me a cynic, but I don’t think there is any way the premier league would sign off on us selling him for that much. I reckon they’d have said his fair market value was more like 30-40m. 14 premier league goals and assists combined in 24.2 Premier league games isnt much better than ASMs 6 goals and assists combined in 12.4 games in his final season with us. Villa very lucky getting top dollar for players they don’t want.

    St James' Park

Sofi in California is amazing. Something similar hopefully with a retractable roof would be immense.
  15. I detest what they are doing, and have real concerns it will impact our growth and short to medium term success. They are outright cheating, and we are the most likely club to be impacted by it on the field (in the table). Let’s not forget we missed out on Europe because of their end of season run in. People can say it was due to the cup final as much as they like, but had they not overtaken us, we would have secured Europa Conference. It’s all well and good laughing at them taking the mic, until it’s us just missing out on qualifying for the champions league, or just missing out on a cup because of them. We would benefit from less direct competitors and teams to overtake.

    Football pet hates

Troy Deeny and Chris Wood always had a good go at destroying the back of the net
  17. Didn’t have the bottle to come up North and lead this sleeping giant to the promised land, cementing his name in folklore. Instead took an easy option, yawn.
  18. Southgate aspires to be Greece 2004. It’s such a turn off. Whether we fluke this tournament or not I can’t wait for him to fcuk off, and England get a progressive forward thinking manager in. I see a eureka moment ahead whether England go from playing brucieball to Howeball. Sadly I’m struggling to get behind the majority of these entitled players though, and the repugnant clubs they represent.
  19. Tomasson was mismanaged / unlucky with what happened to Shearer and Ferdinand. He should have been Pedros replacement. Hamann was another example of Liverpool buying our best players from us, we were one of their conveyor belts for years, so agree that triggers me too. I’d love to rip up FFP and take their talent for a few generations.
  20. City play KDB, Foden and Silva in the same team. I’m pretty sure he is more than compatible of excelling in our set up.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

He’s decent, he raises the floor but he’s nowhere near the ceiling. Also gonna be expensive for what he is. If we sign him great, an improvement on Elliot, but there will be much better prospects and value out there.
  22. To increase revenues, I think we need to build a new super stadium on Castle Leazes. Repeating an old discussion, but perhaps the events of the last 24 hours will allow the naysayers to realise we cannot compete without it, unless our mode operatum is simply player trading, specifically selling. This is the longer term solution as won’t be done in 3 years.
  23. Or worse diving in the last minute against Brighton, instead of going clean through on goal, potentially costing us Europe.
  24. Was catching up on this thread noticing all the comments about £10m and wondering why I was so out of touch thinking it should be more like £25m… young, English, versatile, lots of premier league experience… Now I’m wondering if it is really £35m, if we couldn’t have kept Minteh and see if he developed under Eddie. Effectively gamble on him being the player Brightons metrics think he is. Wish Elliot a bright future, except against us, always felt he has something though it’s not quite happened yet.
  25. Aren’t Brighton in about £300m of debt, whereas we have no debt. It’s a funny old game.
