Aaron Ramsdale: return to Southampton confirmed
Optimistic Nut replied to The Prophet's topic in Football
Ramsdale has a bit of Pickford about him. Not as good but I think he's ideal for us if we're trying to progress how we play. Wouldn't be surprised if he's in tomorrow. -

Devil's advocate. When we have as many giants in the team as we have, should we be relying on this as much? It's not exactly as though Ramsdale is rubbish in this area, but the likes of Woltemade, Botman, Burn & Thiaw should be big & strong enough to negate this. -
They don't need lovely houses and classy restaurants, so good job they're away to Slough!
-
Probably need 7 away wins and 13 home wins in a season to compete for 70 points, so that's not a million miles away like.
-
It's not long ago Pereira made Wolves look so much better than O'Neil. Interesting choice to go back. Can't see them improving.
-
Love him to bits, but his loyalty towards some players is starting to let us down. Could understand it when the alternatives were people like Dubravka and Longstaff. Not when it's Ramsdale & Ramsey, for instance.

Burn ironically not even in the same postcode as Wan Bissaka for the Botman og. He's having to come across because Burn is in no man's land. He's having to do this repeatedly as long as Burn is LB. Hall in, Burn out, for me.
-
Will give him the benefit of the doubt with the shot, was well hit and close to bottom corner. Punching like that though when there was no counter-attack on from it and a simple catch takes the sting out of their attack was pathetic though.

Of course.

You become a member (free) which means you can apply for pretty much any home game bar the Old Firm teams & Hibs. Got these tickets easy enough on day of release but imagine it'll get harder.

Hearts 4-0 Dundee today. Just an all-round great day out. 1 hour 20 on the train, one of the best cities in the world, nice clear day, and the atmosphere around the place once you reach near the ground is similar to what it was like here after the takeover. There's a sense that they believe they're going to do it. . As for the match, still no alcohol in stadiums up there but a decent enough atmosphere. Hearts absolutely dominated from start to finish and could have been a few more. Devlin & Baningime in midfield is very good for the level they're at. Not sure if they'll be able to win the title but I think they'll give it a good go.

Naaah. Given was one of the top 3-4 keepers in his day. Pope isn't.
-
Pope over Given is fucking outrageous.
-
Put himself on as a sub in a friendly at Reading and ran the show didn't he? Probably could have still been playing.
-
Bobby said in an interview once that Harper was paid more than he probably should have been because he was a reliable number 2.
-
He did well in the Intertoto Cup and played canny first game at Chelsea but we had better players.
-
Different eras but Given was elite. Best keeper we've had in my lifetime by a mile. He genuinely would make saves that he had no right to make.
-
Excellent 09/10 (granted a league lower), carried that into 10/11, was elite 11/12, injuries hindered 12/13 but he put in one of the best CB performances I've ever seen from an NUFC player in the away derby when we played with 10-men for most of the game and drew 1-1, was very good up until around Cabaye leaving in 13/14, then injuries and age caught up.
-
Yeah, Swansea & Birmingham are the only real upsets going back absolutely years.
-
He was great for about 3-4 years of his time here like.
-
Going to be sad when it gets pinched and becomes dirge at every ground copying it because it's a belter.
-
Two offsides last night in St-Mirren v Hearts. For me the St-Mirren goal should be within the laws of the game. The Hearts one you'd have no issues being given offside, but if there's VAR that can show any part was in line with a defender, should also be fine imo.
-
Sign of our progression in 4 years is he's went from one of our 2-3 most important players when he signed, to the 24-25th member of the squad pretty much.

If it's the one I'm thinking of its when Woltemade came deep, took it and played it out left. It's the sort of option that Martinez and Watkins destroyed us with away last season, that we've never had the capacity to do up until now. If he can ping that sort of pass, we literally have the perfect centre-forward to receive them.
