geordiesteve710
I would take Brenda over Moyes any day of the week, Rafa would have to be paid an obscene amount to even consider it. Why? To which part? Why would you want Rodgers over Moyes. Moyes is in a rut, he was laughed out of Spain, laughed out of Manchester.. he found a comfort zone at Everton, who despite being mediocre have always been a far more stable club than us. I don't dislike the guy but that's no reason to want him in as a manager. Rodgers went a bit flat at Liverpool but was he really doing any worse than Klopp is now? I don't particularly like Rodgers but I reckon his ideas may get more enthusiasm from our bunch, the rotten wasters.. Our club responds to having a larger than life personality at the helm, now neither Rodgers or Moyes fall into that category.. Rafa would be far superior but ultimately not realistic as Ashley wouldn't throw that kind of cash at something sensible.. Didn't Moyes survive a couple of close shaves with relegation in his first few years at Everton before he sorted them out eventually? Not convinced he'd bring the short term boost we probably need right now. It's all academic. Can't see charnley ever hiring someone who actually knows about football because he'd be shown up and his position undermined in a matter of days. thenige
'Don't want Moyes' ffs. Have a word. If you want a solid but unspectacular manager who has failed to do what's been asked of him in his last two jobs carry on. I'd rather hold a bit more hope about someone who can reinvent the club with positive football and turning us into something to be proud of. Moyes safety first doesn't exactly have me brining with anticipation.

I'd be genuinely worried that he'd not be able to come in and have the immediate impact we need, that aside though aye he's miles ahead of what we've got, what we had, and are likely to ever have under Ashley. toon25
Moyes would whip this bunch of absolute cowards into shape and get them organised, I'm sure.
Altamullan
I'd have Moyes or Rodgers, over SMc. If we're dreaming, then why not dream big: how about Mourinho , coming back to manage his mentor's home club. Jose and Cashley...ego-wrestle-fest!! Jayson
Id have either, but i still think our issue is more about personnel. If Willian ghosts past Tiote like he's not there & runs at the defence whos going to stop him? You can have him do that to someone else & have Tiote behind that man. But then we're playing defensive & have stacked the midfield as we did at Everton. Its basically up to our defenders up to a certain point & they're not good enough as we know. Mcclarens not our biggest issue for me. He can obviously see basic weaknesses as he signed a playmaker & someone to balance our other wing. So im struggling to believe he see's no defensive weaknesses. He let go of Williamson, proof he has eyesight. We have too many defenders, so they didnt want to sign any. No suprises we've lost Haidara, Mbabu, Dummett, Mbemba & have only just got Taylor back. They wont sign more with these players on the books.
Odear
I would be completely ambivalent about someone like Moyes coming in, look at Everton ffs.. Martinez has them playing far superior football. Do you think any of their fans would want him back? The guy who Pochettino learned his trade under (Marco Biesla), Guardiola once remarked that he was the best manager in the world.. but even aside from him, there's a few others he had under him who have done well in European football, La Liga I think.. Gerardo Martino. Emery would be a top, top appointment for any team who can coax him. To think West Ham had a sniff of getting him last summer. Interpolic
Guardian reckon he's 'running out of time'. N-O reckons he's running out of hair. It's all speculation.

mighty__mag
Some interesting Moyes stats. http://www.barriesview.com/2013/03/david-moyes-statistics-at-everton This one is interesting. David Moyes is unbeaten in all 15 Premier League meetings with Sunderland. The last time the Black Cats defeated Everton was the last time they faced each other before Moyes took charge. mrmojorisin75
His record is utter garbage against teams at the top of the table iirc, Moyes that is. Not that it matters, we're shite against everyone.
Joe_F
Almost certainly BS but Alan Brazil on TalkSport said he's been told if they get rid of McClaren they've got Redknapp lined up till the end of the season.

colinmk
Redknapp would have a better chance than Shteve I reckon. Despite having a face that has dripped almost entirely to the floor, his motivational skills would surpass Mr McClarens.
mrmojorisin75
I don't think I could handle Redknapp like, wretched human being. Has he not only had one crack at taking over a sinking ship and failed as well? Or its it two or three now with QPR?
Guest
He took over Spurs & Portsmouth in bad positions and turned them round. I know he had a big budget at Pompey but the initial half season when he took over from Perrin was good. Failed at Southampton & QPR though. I think he'd see us clear with the bonus of him not wanting to relocate permanently so could go for a Moyes/Rodgers in the summer.
Spider Jerusalem
Only Newcastle! Moyes, Rodgers, Rafa and Mourino all available. Linked with Redknapp!
Guest
Long term I think Rodgers or Moyes are ideal for us but seem to me like they'd be better with a full summer rather than coming in and getting an initial reaction. That's why I think Redknapp is a good short term fix.
LV
Redknapp's a spent force now imo. That trial did for him as did not getting the England job. I just don't think his heart is in it any more and I can't see him having the will for the fight to keep us up. That and the fact that I can't stand him as a person makes me want him nowhere near us. Guest
Offer him a couple of million bonus for keeping us up and I'm fairly certain he'd motivate himself for a few months to avoid relegation. One last pay day for him, Ashley gets his TV money. Suits both parties.
