BlueStar
Just been refused bail again today. Edit: Further bail application expected at 2:15pm.
Shearergol
The courts can't guarantee that he wouldn't re-offend. Jesus wept; that doesn't bode well for his trial.

WarrenBartonCentrePartin
I love it how there's been fuck all updates on nufc.co.uk about any of this. I'm sorry, but if I was Mort I'd tell Craig Hope to have it on there. He's our player whether we like it or not and we're paying his fucking wages. The least they can do is post a small club statement.
BlueStar
Appeared via video link from the Liverpool Prison wearing a grey prison issue jumper and jeans. No idea why they always tell us what someone was wearing, guess it's cos when you just turn up and confirm your name or ask to be granted bail they have to flesh the story out a bit. Skirge
He is going down like if not for this one he will for the Man City training ground one, not many people get refused bail for this kind of offense, he really is a fkn nutter.

Erm, yes they do. Remanded for common assault and affray, yeah maybe if its a weekend and the courts are closed until a Monday morning or you have numerous convictions for the same offense. He's already awaiting trial for an offence more serious than "common assault" is he not? Anyone considered a threat to the community (which he clearly is) will be refused bail. It happens far more often than you're making out.
Guest alex
Unconditional bail (which he was granted previously) doesn't, as I understand it, literally mean 'unconditional'. You still have to stay out of trouble.

Dokko
Hope he's crying in his porridge, what an utter bastard he is. One player who fully deserves to be booed to shit if he ever plays for this club again. Calling us vicious, fuking prick.
Guest Phil K
Past caring about this thug. We should cut our losses and get shot of him. He's produced nothing and now this.

Karjala
Does anyone know how we legally stand in regards to sacking him? Theres a similar ongoing case in the Finnish hockey league, where one of the most well-known players was arrested for his suspected involvement in a drugs ring, and so his club sacked him and the league have suspended him from playing. As he has also had his passport confiscated, playing abroad isnt an option. Would like to think we can easily sack Barton for this, without any pay-off. It would be worth £5m loss to sack him and hold his registration for 4-5 years and ruin his career. I'm sure if we asked nicely a few other clubs would chip in to settle some of the bill for us. How can we sack him, i.e. cancel his contract, and hold his registration for 4-5 years exactly?

Yep, thats true. But, I can't see any other club paying money for Barton in the next few years, so we'll waste loads in salary on top. Kinda like Lee Bowyer, clubs will only take him on a free, unless Barton suddenly becomes the next Ronaldo. Imagine the shit he's gonna get from other (and maybes our) fans IF he comes back and plays.
