(only on sky) Will be a good watch think they are having a few past players on and stufff! Cant wait till it properly kicks in to watch full reserve matches not just highlights! Wilshere has recently been wearing a protective boot aimed at allowing a stress fracture of the ankle time to heal naturally and avoid surgery. However, scans this week have revealed that the fracture has not responded positively during this period. Throughout Jack's injury, the Club has been guided by the continuous advice of several world-renowned specialists. The information attained this week has led to the conclusion that surgery is now required to gain an optimal response. Wilshere is now expected to be out for a period of months. Following surgery these timescales will become more specific. A Club spokesman said: "We have given Jack time to heal naturally which is important wherever possible with a young player. The latest scans show surgery is needed. Everyone at the Club wishes Jack a speedy recovery." It seems that having to play over 50 games last season was too much for poor Jack. My impression though is that it's Wenger's own fault. Being a vital player, Wenger tried to rush him back after injury IIRC and looks to have made the situation worse. Would explain why Wenger was desperate for him to take a break over the summer despite playing him over 50 times in the season. Might have assumed that the summer would have been enough time only for him to 'recover' only to break down in preseason or something. Just a big hopeful guess post here.
