Then we faffed around for ages trying to haggle the price down, where in fact it actually kept going up to a point where even people on here who are desperate for us to sign someone were questioning the price for a guy in his last year of his deal. We should have either bid earlier or named our price and moved on to the next target. Now we're desperate and it appears it's either this or nothing as we've dedicated all our attention to him. I know what you're saying, but is it really that simple? What if we 'move on' when it's still possible to do a deal? What if we think we can get it done, but complications crop up? Everything was agreed, with the player and the club. Then Lyon decided to act the cunts, wanting us to pay their sell on fee his former club. I'm not mad that we pulled out. We'll probably end up with him for even less now, so it's not all bad. Ideally we'd have had him in for our last two games, but thems the breaks.
