"stop writing shite on message boards" say .com

Happy Face

To be fair, I think they're appealing for people to go to the games rather than telling us to shut up.

They are. Any need for the sly digs and the sanctimony though? From them, that is ;)

I think deep down they feel threatened by anyone under 30 daring to take interest in their club.

They give the young uns credit for not dropping their heads and singing throughout....despite questioning the songs they choose to sing.

Oh the irony.

At a quick count: 1 mod, 3 admin, and 4 writing staff ITT having a pop at .com already.

Is there an auto pop-up triggered in the admin forum?

I'd far rather there be shite being spouted on message boards than at the actual match tbh which does happen and a lot more often and from larger numbers than on any message board. This place exists to let fans have their say on anything NUFC related and low and behold, err, that's what people do. This forum, as irritating as it can be with some of the moronic shite that gets posted, is no different to any kind of NUFC "debating society", whether it be at the match, in the bar or on the train/bus/car back home with your old man and mates. People will talk shite, even Nufc.com do (they were basically putting the boot into Big Sam from the off and their comments about Bramble amounted to childishness).

Only this week at work the following opinions have been voiced:

"KK is past it, he should go"

"Once we get our first win we'll shoot up the table"

"I hope we do go down, clean break"

"hang the bastards, every one of them"

"Mort hasn't a clue, he's Ashley's puppet"

This is OFFLINE.

Only thing odd I find, in my experience anyway, is that few people will criticise Ashley offline that I've came into contact with, indeed a good few say he doesn't deserve all this shite shelling out what he has. Where as most, well, it's as if he doesn't even exist. Mort gets most of the flack.

Anyway, if I'm being honest, I agree with their sentiments but it doesn't just end at the internet, all fans need to keep their heads up, chests out and try to remain as level headed as possible and support the club, players, manager, fellow fans, owner and chairman and any fucker else, 100% unconditionally. Let us have the public enquiry after the season ends.

The way I see it is like this:

KK hasn't weaved any magic - fact

The players are shite - fact

Ashley and Mort have boobed - fact

Relegation is a real possibility - fact

Performances from the team and players at times have been a disgrace - fact

This has been a disgraceful season in toal - fact

We know all this, we've debated it to death, online and offline. All that is really left or open for us is to do what we are actually quite good at and at least consistent at - is to support the fucking club, on here, offline, regardless, as positively as we can.

Again - Let us have the public enquiry after the season ends.

IMO.

PS - HP. Mort nor anyone else at NUFC influences this place, it is the direct opposite in fact. We try to influence them. Not for £££, kudos or anything else though, but for the good of the club and more importantly, us lot the fans. Which is exactly what a fansite/fanzine should stand for. I think that's why a number of people don't like this place...

Viva la revelucion!!

Agree with the last para in particular.

Supporters regardless of brainpower/matchattendability/foreigness/madness should feel they can come on here and get involved.

I don't think they would like, but the lads from nufc.com or anyone else who hold up forums as the devil of opinion should join a forum and they'd then soon understand what forums are all about which would then give them a far better understanding of them and those that use them and with it their own brethren too. As a website developer it does piss me off that there seems to be such a negative opinion of forums in general. In a world full of bullshit and lies, a forum is the most honest of places because it allows people to have an honest view without any real kind of comeback. Some people actually find this dangerous, but I find it liberating and far more in line with reality, oddly given the virtual medium such opinions are voiced over. People will say what they think, or write about what they (or others) dare not think about. I.e. KK walking, Ashley fucking off, hence such threads. It may be bollocks, but it's honest bollocks and we must embrace that rather than mistrust it or try and dumb it down in my opinion.

I find this place truly irritating at times, moronic, cretinous and whatever other insult I could use to describe half the things I read on it. But I wouldn't have it any other way. Where else could you say what the hell you like, or touch on things on your mind, like Newcastle going down being a potential blessing in disguise. Say that at the match and you'd get slapped or looked at as if you're a criminal. Say it on here and a debate pops up about it. Yet, and this is the real irony, I bet every Toon fan out there, nufc.com included, have asked themselves the very same question or thought about it for a brief second.

Fuck it, I retract my comments above in the post I made above regarding 100% unconditional support and positivity. Carry on posting whatever you like, saying whatever you like. If people don't like it, tough. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO READ IT/POST A REPLY. It doesn't have to bother you. If it does and badly so, then SAY SO. And to be fair to Nufc.com, that's exactly what they've done haven't they? What we are all doing really.

Anyway I kind of view forums like a boozer, the best place to let off steam especially where football and the Toon are concerned, again I'd far rather places like this being used for that than the match itself and for the more controversial of subjects and opinions, well, just like the BNP, gays, religion et al, what people do in their own homes is their own business so long as they don't force their views or whatever on me which takes me back to this: YOU DO NOT HAVE TO READ IT/POST A REPLY. It doesn't have to bother you. If it does and badly so, then SAY SO.

I know.  I've already said that was a tongue in cheek comment.

I'm guessing most people who put any deal of stock in this place do so mostly in the forum which invites all opinion so there's no doubt it's unbiased.
