Arda Turan?

Search for Arda Romania on youtube "Arda Turan dribble and shot" should be the first video. I think it is pretty impressive :)

What is even more *impressive is that immediately after beating two players and hitting the post from 25 yards, he starts clutching his knee and rolling around on the floor.

*Impressive from Emre's point of view.

Toon winning Turan race

May 18 2008 by Neil Farrington, Sunday Sun

NEWCASTLE are set to beat Middlesbrough to the signing of Turkish winger Arda Turan as a replacement for Damien Duff.

And there is every chance that Emre will also leave United — for Galatasaray — as a big-money move for Turan, pictured left, materialises.

The likely arrival of Turan signals the end of Duff’s days at Newcastle, with the Irishman having already put his lavish Northumberland house up for sale after being told he is not part of United’s first-team plans.

And while Duff contemplates interest from Portsmouth and former club Blackburn, Boro could console themselves by landing United’s James Milner.

Following widespread talk in Turkey of a big-money Magpies move for Turan, his agent last night confirmed that the two-footed 21-year-old may be on the move.

And while the same agent, Ahmet Bulut, insisted Emre, pictured right, is happy to stay at Newcastle, he has held talks with Galatasaray last week over their former midfielder.

On Turan, who already boasts 16 international caps and is tipped to star at Euro 2008, Bulut said: “One club is talking to Galatasaray and asking them to name their price.

“If Galatasaray’s request is met, the transfer can happen.”

That club is understood to be Newcastle, although Boro have also made enquiries about Turan on the recommendation of their Turkish striker Tuncay.

The Teessiders, as revealed by the Sunday Sun in March, are ready to pounce for Milner, who had little chance to impress Kevin Keegan before the end of the season because of injury.

Meanwhile, Newcastle have also made contact with the agent of Mauro Zarate, the Argentine striker recently on loan at Birmingham.

Not sure how reliable this source is  :shifty:

By Sunday Sun, so not very.

Don't know if you realise this, but many don't so I'll say it anyway. The Sunday Sun is NOTHING to do with the Sun. It's a local paper run by the same company as the Journal and the Chronicle. Still gets stuff wrong (what rag doesn't?) but it's more reliable than the stirrers at the Sun. IIRC the Sunday Sun broke the Rooney bid story when no-one else had a clue.

Arda can play, left/right wing or as an attacking midfielder. He has done very well in all those positions for Galatasaray.

Btw most of you guys have probably watched the compilations on youtube. All the footage you see in the compilations is from August to October/November of 2007, just after he got his breakthrough for Galatasaray, so there isn't that much.

It's all over the Turkish media, that we're in talks with the lads club to be fair...

are they saying anything has been agreed or just talking?

Surprisingly my Turkish isn't brilliant but, it's something about a bid of 16 million pounds and Galatasaray wanting to hold out for the Euro's so they can make a larger profit on him...

Do Man U really need Veloso?

I thought this too but they seem to be heavily linked with him despite having 2 top class DM - i dont think Hargreaves has impressed Fergie that much has had a few problems with timekeeping if i rememeber correctly, fergie hates that, think he could be a wildcard signing for someone in the Prem this summer.

Do man u really need anyone?

They need another striker definitely...and I'd think about replacing Van Der Saar if I was Fergie too.

To be fair- they dont need anyone. Not like we need x,y and z...

dont think carrick will go anywhere for a long time-i have a feeling that Hargreaves will make a move if Veloso comes.

I could see Ferguson trying to turn Hargreaves into a right back tbh. Not sure he has the class on the ball that Man U want in their CM's, reckon that's part of the reason he didn't get that many games this season.

Whenever he's played RB that I've seen him though he's looked immense. Fabulous engine, great crosser of the ball and defensively very sound. Iniesta hardly had a kick over two legs against him on that side.

Obviously there's a few subtleties to the position he'd need to learn, but the qualities are there IMO.

1. Fergie has clarified that the Hargreave late story was nonsense.

2. Ben Foster is more than capable to replace VDS.

I think Man U needs a specialist right back who could also deputise in left back position.
