Makes sense to me, infact this is how they should be starting, Gomes isn't mobile enough to play that role. It makes sense to take off your only renowned striker for a midfielder when you're 2 goals down with 20 minutes to go? I know there are better strikers around and Portugal are probably better without Nuno Gomes starting the game, but in this situation it is a strange sub.. On the bench most likely, the manager seems to prefer simao over him although I've seen simao do nothing this competition where as Quaersma has the ability to get a goal out of nothing.
