I liked Emre gutted he was always injured.

All I can say is we better be bringing some VERY GOOD players in because so far we have got rid of players and brought no one in.

We need about 6 players id say maybe more if Zogbia goes.

I think it's got more to do with what people thought that he could do rather than what he actually did do.   :dontknow:

Janitor, yes - our site (www.fenerbahceworldwide.org) is a fan site.  There is only one official Fenerbahce club site, which is www.fenerbahce.org.  They reported the news first and that is the official club site.  We do, however, receive a great deal of resources and promotion from the club and we don't report any transfer rumors until we investigate to find credible sources, of which 90% of Turkish media is not :)

We Fenerbahce fans are also a bit worried about Emre's injury history.  We've been burned many times in recent years by buying players who rarely saw the pitch.  This past season we were without both Stephen Appiah and Roberto Carlos for a good deal of the season.

Hey, do you know anything about the price you're signing him for?

Aye I'd completely agree with that, as it's a shame as technically he's a lot better than the rest of our midfielders. I still think he'll have a canny Euro 2008 as well btw.

Yes because he has never had a solid run of games under good management, we get an attacking gaffer and we sell our best midfielder. Great move. £8M is quoted.

Turkish side Fenerbahce in Emre swoop

May 31 2008 by Lee Ryder, Evening Chronicle

TURKISH ACE Emre looks certain to quit Newcastle United in favour of a move to his native Istanbul with Fenerbahce.

Fenerbahce claim on their official website that they have reached an agreement with United and the player.

Reports in Turkey also confirmed the move, with the player’s agent Ahmet Bulut said to have verified the switch with the Turkish media.

Emre is believed to have signed a lucrative three-year deal with the Turks.

The move for the former Inter Milan midfielder has caused shockwaves in his homeland after Fenerbahce stole in to clinch the deal under the noses of their bitter rivals Galatasaray.

Emre is currently preparing for Euro 2008 with Turkey, but he looks all set to link up with Brazilian legend Zico, who is boss of the club known in Turkey as the Canaries.

But his switch from St James’s Park will only go ahead if he makes it through the tournament unscathed, with both clubs believed to have reached an agreement – as revealed late last night on our website www.chroniclelive.co.uk.

Newcastle may recoup the majority of the £3.8m fee they paid to Inter three years ago but details of a price are yet to be confirmed by either club.

Twenty-seven-year-old Emre – who now looks set to taste Champions League football with the Turks next season – will say an emotional goodbye to Newcastle but admitted the future still looks bright for the Magpies under Kevin Keegan.

And in a farewell interview, Emre says: “Newcastle have good players and finished the season with a good mentality.

“They are playing football again.

“When Kevin came to Newcastle everybody felt he had brought something different from in the dressing room to out on the pitch.

“Everything has changed for the better because of him.”

The playmaker was signed by Graeme Souness in 2005 in a move hailed as a major coup for United.

Emre won a place in the hearts of Toon fans when he whipped in a wonderful free-kick against Sunderland in October 2005 in a 3-2 win which saw him join a very special club of goalscorers who have netted against the Wearsiders from set-pieces such as Scott Sellars and Liam O’Brien.

Yet his departure will be reflected on with sadness by the majority of the Toon Army who saw Emre as one of the more gifted players and suited to KK’s attacking style of play.

The Turk joined United under Souness due to the pair’s association with Galatasaray that allowed Newcastle to beat Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool to his signature.

But injuries, allied to the frequent change of manager, meant that confidence player Emre was never really able to find his best form for United.

After Souness was sacked, Emre built up a good relationship with Glenn Roeder to help fire the club into Europe in 2006.

But under Sam Allardyce, the playmaker was never happy with the direct tactics of the former Bolton boss.

Emre was linked with a move to Bayern Munich and Hertha Berlin.

He told the Chronicle he was optimistic about his future in January but bad luck – including a red card the night KK returned in the Stoke FA Cup tie at St James’s – and injuries left the player feeling downbeat.

And although Keegan’s return to the club looked to have offered Emre a lifeline, the Turk was plagued by injuries again after picking up a calf strain in his last game against Aston Villa.

His bad luck struck again on April 7 when he hobbled off in frustration with an ankle problem and shunned the media following the second string’s 1-1 draw with Manchester United, in which he scored a wonderful equaliser.

It leaves Newcastle’s small squad decimated further after the departures of Peter Ramage, Stephen Carr and James Triosi.

But Keegan always predicted he could lose some big names.

He said earlier this month: “We might lose one or two.

“To be honest it might be in everybody’s interest that they go.

“We might lose one or two we don’t want to go.”

You are taking the piss, aren't you?

The lad is average. He can't cut it in Premiership and he's injury prone. £8 million is fantastic.

He is a good player but its no good building your team around someone who is always injured.

To be fair, we don't exactly have an abundance of talent in central midfield.

So it's the managements fault that he's always injured for us yet seems to miraculously recover for Turkey?

Average? He's by far our most gifted midfielder, he can create for a fucking start, isn't currently on Cell block H, 34 or pissing off to the African Cup Of Nations every 2 year. Give the lad a run for god sake, he has high energy can dribble and can pass. And it now looks like were gonna make a loss.

I was as pissed as anyonehe was fit for Turkey, but even when hes been fit this year he's been on bench duty now and again. Behind fucking "Can't beat the first man" Geremi.

That's no excuse to keep an average player, especially if we are going to get the £8 million quoted.
