thewellander
Does anyone hold any hope for Alan Smith in his second season with us? For what it's worth, I think he's got more talent than he displayed last season and, maybe, Allardyce put too much pressure on him - especially towards the end of his reign when Smith was made captain. I think he can turn his career around...but then again, I was one of those who thought he was a good signing last season. What are your thoughts / predictions for Mr. Smith this upcoming term? Guest Alan Shearer 9
I think he has the potential to be even worse
Tooj
He's absolutely awful, really really awful.

captainhaircut
Christ. I just assumed he wouldn't be here next year. This thread has just made me think he might be.
Yorkie
Absolutely fucking abysmal striker, i don't know how he made it this high. He genuinely is probably the worst striker we've had playing for us consistently in the Premiership. Probably about the third worst striker overall tbh in that timeframe. Behind probably G'uivarch and Andersson. But tbf, they both scored. I hold no hope whatsoever tbh.
Mick
I'd prefer him to play against us than for us.

Cajun
The only hope I hold for Smith is the hope he will be playing for someone else.
NG32
I think he'll score about 15 goals next season.
Wullie
If him or Duff are so much as making the bench next season, we're fucked quite frankly.
sempuki
Trying to forget about him.
Lazy
I hope we can get rid of him.
Bad Mongo
Could be useful if we're leading 4-0 away and want to taunt the opposition.
Heron
I actually have a tiny bit of hope for him and think he may do a reasonable job as our 'battling midfielder' this season. As to be frank he has no 'outstanding' qualities other than his energy levels and his passion. However, if he is our 'battling midfielder' he will miss a game after every 5, because we know what he is like for bookings.
Mick
I think he'll score about 15 goals next season. That would probably be a record for own goals.
midds
I think he'll score about 15 goals next season. He'd struggle to get 15 goals for Jarrow Roofing tbh.

Thespence
I am looking at Smith to reduce the number of yellow cards he gets & to get more/some shots on target, anything else will be a bonus. FUCK ME THIS KID PLAYED FOR ENGLAND!!!!

Someone from this forum has got Smith spot on, he isn't really a battling player more a player who will foul whoever is closest to him. Parker battled, he ran round (I mean more than just spin round) and hassled. Smith just kicks anyone he can reach.

Tbf Jarrow Roofing have just signed former Hartlepool striker Eifion Williams who has knack of scoring goals, so Smith would have to play in midfield!!!! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eifion_Williams
