Threelegs
C'mon Joey. Knuckle down and give it your all. Stay out of trouble. Pay back the faith that NUFC has put in you. And lets be honest if you fail here, only teams like Sunderland would want you.

Now Steve WAS one of the Krays 'hangers on' yet feels he can represent NUFC supporters on how unsavoury Joey Barton is. Two faced ... Google 'geordie connection' - the site is a blinder. dustynrg
I know this is wheyse keyse Louise but it sounds like it could be true, summed up, if we don't pay him 65k a week three other teams in the Premiership are prepared to, and we lose what we paid for him in the meantime. No wonder he's being welcomed back, no businessman is going to lose 5mill or whatever SA paid for him. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2008/jul/29/newcastleunited?gusrc=rss&feed=football

ChezGiven
Over the years we've had rapes, manslaughters, wife-beaters, doggers, roasters, Ulrika-abusers and any number of morally suspect agents, swindlers and pie-eating super-baddies but now's the time to take a stand against this immoral and evil footballer? Fuck off.
sicsfingeredmong
As the thread already dealing with Joey Barton carries a title (tabloid headline like) which would leave any casual visitor to this site thinking that we are all against him, best we have one for those who agree with Kevin Keegan that he has done his time and should put the past behind him. So welcome back Joey, get fit and build on the form you showed at the end of last season and well done KK for respecting the law of the land regarding spent convictions and refusing to give in to the lynch mob mentality of certain newspaper "journalists" and sadly some fans. That's it then lad, get on with the business of playing football and keep the f*** out of bother. Or else......... Agree entirely. With regards to the last 4 words, also underlined. Most probably the same fans, or some of anyway, who cried out that Bellamy had to go because he bought shame on to the club & the city when he gave a certain manager a justafied '4-letter word' spray on national television amidst one particular & key substitution when 'that' game was there for the taking. sicsfingeredmong
get out of my city, u scumbag Jesus Wept. To borrow Chez Given's line, JB's hardly a paedophile is he? And you must be naive if you believe that footballers are to be supposed role models, or something which comes close to the perfect role model. If anything the life of a professional footballer - ie. more free time one one's hands, more disposal income to piss down the drain - serves only to eccentuate whatever chinks, or character weaknesses, which exist in their psychological make-up. Kitman
The thing is, if we'd sacked him the tabloids would have run the story "Run out of toon - Joey let down by callous Newcastle", complete with quotes from fans demanding his reinstatement and expressing disbelief at his treatment. These journos have papers to sell, there's an anti-toon bias in the media feeding anti-toon sentiment amongst other clubs' fans, the "moral outrage" comes as no surprise whatsoever. From the same people who crap on about the dangers of binge drinking and the evil of drugs and hookers, and no doubt use all of them in between pushing their infantile prose out of their hairy arses. Or something like that

Although whether he'd like to share a dressing room with unsavoury characters like Chimbonda and Diouf (or Roy Keane for that matter) is debatable !
