I disagree, I think ranger looks better technically and intelligence wise than Carroll did at the same age. Really needs to work on his finishing mind but that was still being said about Carroll just over a year ago. Taylor Swift Posted February 6, 2011 Share Posted February 6, 2011 Yeah, Ranger is showing more than Carroll did when he was the same age. Ranger's also faster and seems physically more mature. Whether he'll develop the same intelligence, instincts and goalscoring habits that Carroll quickly developed remains to be seen. It's unlikely that he'll develop as fast as Carroll, but I don't see a reason why Ranger can't be a 15-20 goals a season striker by the time he's 23. For Bests goal he had 4 Arsenal defenders around him while he waited for support from Enrique to lay it off for the cross. excellent play. He's proving useful off the bench but with Ameobi out and Best probably out for a short spell, we're probably going to see him as the lone Ranger, or paired with Lovenkrands. I remember there being a little bit of a buzz about him at the time. Not as prolific as Nile Ranger at that level. Was another lad at that level with Carroll who used to score more, forgot his name. ATB Posted February 6, 2011 Share Posted February 6, 2011 Ranger was also scoring a lot of goals at the U and reserv level. Right now I wouldn´t loan him out next season. Have him as an impact sub. As been said. Already he seems to be getting better. Right now its basically the goals that are missing. Its just a shame. Because him and Carroll would have been unstoppable. The few games he played in the relegation season, he was poor. It's quite ironic. The relegation gave Carroll the chance to play for one whole season in a league that is not so fast as PL. And that season Carroll was born as a player. Without the relegation, it's not sure that Carrol ever would have gotten the chance. So it's essential that Ranger his loaned next season. He was, he was tearing up teams in the reserves at that age but never got his chance because we actually had decent striking opitions, at one point he got so good it was almost unfair for other teams in the reserves that we play him. Yes but if we take facts Ranger is playing well in the PL and has had no whole season with first team strikers getting injured and thus hasn't able to have as much experience as Carroll got. Based on that and the fact that he is playing very well when he comes on at only 19 at the same Ranger is better. Besides the reserves??? It's a WHOLE different game being in the PL.
