Menace
I'm a big fan of his, he is utter class. I think we should whack all the money we got from Milner for a bid for him, he's a year older but a far better player, plus his goal record for Wigan is very good, considering it's Wigan. Guest gggg
Aye just scored a great goal. If that was Milner he would of been caught by the halfway line.
STM
I don't think you would find many people who wouldn't want him in our side. Palacios anarl.
ElDiablo
Agree would be my first choice replacement too, reckon we could get him for less than we sold Milner for as well.
Guest hikickry
you just know we aren't going to go for him though
toontownman
He has plenty of other admirers. If Wigan were going to sell (which they are avoiding at all costs) I doubt we would be in the running.
thedudeabides
Great player but no chance of getting him sadly.
johnnypd
i think we'd have a massive chance of getting him this late in the window, no-one has bid for him so far and other, comparable clubs like Spurs and Man City have already bought right-wingers. bloody hell if we can get Jonas and Coloccini, and the latter especially is a far bigger name than Valencia, i think we get a player from Wigan of all places
Kimbo
Doesn't Dave Whelan have a strong dislike for Mike Ashley?
Dave
Doesn't Dave Whelan have a strong dislike for Mike Ashley? Isn't it all about the JJB vs Sports Direct thing?
Incognito
Doesn't Dave Whelan have a strong dislike for Mike Ashley? Isn't it all about the JJB vs Sports Direct thing? TRC
Bruce rates him at 18 mill
Alberto2005
Bruce rates him at 18 mill That's Palacios, but he probably rates him just the same.
Thespence
I think it is fair to say Dave Whelan wont sell his prize players to us. That Zaki seems to be doing well, I know today is only Hull but this lad can finish.
Chris_R
Bruce rates him at 18 mill So he'll probably sell for £9m then.
Guest toonlass
Bruce rates him at 18 mill If Milner is worth £12 million then he is worth £18 million.
nufc4eva
I said this after the world cup and when he went to Wigan. I thought then that we should have signed him up. He is quality
Guest optimistic nit
Bruce rates him at 18 mill If Milner is worth £12 million then he is worth £18 million. thats shite reasoning, we'd be pretty damn desperate to pay 18million for valencia, although i'd love him for around 10. brummie
I really rate Valencia. I'd even have preferred to have him than James Milner.
Carlito
I forgot how awesome he was at the World Cup and remember thinking "wow, Wigan have done really well there" when they signed him. Wasn't too long ago Man Utd were being linked with him, but I'd like to see him here as he could bring a lot to the team.
LooneyToonArmy
they only had him on loan on the first season and he impressed even at that time.......don`t know why other clubs didn`t go in for him.......very good player and would be great to see him here but I highly doubt it unfortunately
Delima
thats s**** reasoning, we'd be pretty damn desperate to pay 18million for valencia, although i'd love him for around 10. 10 millions. If we look around the transfer window I think we could have done better rather easily than getting Valencia. Carlos Villanueva - Loan Gilberto Silva - £1M Abdoulaye Faye - £2.5M Steven Pienaar - £2.5 Olivier Kapo - £2.5M El Hadji Diouf - ? Marvin Emnes - £3.2M Giovani dos Santos - £4.7M Jonás Gutiérrez - ?M Tal Ben Haim - £5.5M Steed Malbranque - ?M Peter Crouch - 9M Aliaksandr Hleb - £11M Samir Nasri - £12M Sulley Muntari - £12.7M I am not convinced spending £10M on Valencia is the answer. I would rather spend £5M on some scouted FM-tastic player. Moreover, Spiderman can play on the right. Ok we are a bit light on the wings with Charles N'Zogbia, Spidermand and Duff as specialist wingers only. We still have Geremi who could do a decent job there. We are however extremely light in central midfield. It is evident that Nicky Butt's legs are not there anymore. Either Joey Barton or Danny Guthrie will have to replace Butt as specialist DM sooner ather than later. That leaves us just 1 player available as attacking midfield. I would prefer to spend that £10M on a central midfielder. I am not convinced that we are financially capable, or that it is financially sound for us to spend £10M on Valencia and another £10M on a CM.
