Mr Logic
Just drove past Keegans house, there is one lone supporter there with a flag draped over the gates. "Don't leave KK." Also 4 press with obligatory cameras etc.
Guest optimistic nit
Mr Oliver's two-cents if it hasn't already been posted: Toon boss' future in doubt after meeting by Alan Oliver, Evening Chronicle KEVIN KEEGAN was again locked in crisis talks with Newcastle United about his future today. The United boss was summoned to a meeting at the ground at 10am the second such meeting in the space of two days. And not only Tyneside, but the whole of the country were waiting to hear of the outcome of this second meeting. Despite the clamour for information, Newcastle United remained silent this morning. In the meantime the online notice boards went into over-drive supporting Keegan and blasting United for the way they are reportedly treating their favourite. And despite talk of Keegan walking out, The Chronicles information is that is unlikely to happen. Certainly any thoughts of director of football Dennis Wise who has been installed as favourite by at least one bookmaker, taking over as manager at St Jamess Park would go down like the proverbial lead balloon. I saw Keegan go into St Jamess at 2pm yesterday where he had what I am told was a heated meeting with the United hierarchy. Keegan was conspicuous by his absence when United reserves went in against Sunderland at St Jamess Park last night. But The Chronicle learned early today that Keegan had been ordered back to the ground for another meeting with Llambias at 10am. In my view Ashley is taking a huge gamble pushing Keegan to the brink because their former skipper is without a shadow of a doubt Newcastle Uniteds best asset. In a dramatic morning of rumour and counter-rumour it did not take long for the bookies to suspend betting on the next Premier League manager to leave their club. With everything happening so fast in the past 24 hours, United are unlikely to have a replacement lined up if for any reason Keegan relinquishes his post. However, if Keegan was to go then there are plenty who would jump at the chance to manage Newcastle United, with David Moyes and David OLeary two names already touted for the job Link Oliver's word is gospel, keegan isn't gone, all is well. Oliver's word is gospel, keegan isn't gone, all is well. Oliver's word is gospel, keegan isn't gone, all is well. Oliver's word is gospel, keegan isn't gone, all is well. Oliver's word is gospel, keegan isn't gone, all is well. repeat ad infinitum.
Shearergol
I can't see a scenario where Keegan can stay now, apart from one which involves a takeover.

Chris_R
David O'Fucking Leary touted for the job? Is he having a laugh? Touted by who exactly? The only person who would tout O'Leary for the job is his own mother.
AyeDubbleYoo
I still think there would have been an announcement if anything was decided for sure. It might come tomorrow now, but I'm still grasping that shred of hope.

The only person who would tout O'Leary for the job is his own mother. He was at the game last week. He played over 1000 games for Arsenal, so that's hardly surprising. BlueStar
ITK text message from someone who, as far as I'm aware, has no contacts in the club whatsoever but here it is anyway, for your amusement Derek Llambias sacked KK after a huge row. Ashley is now trying to get Kev to take his job back, that's why there's been no official word from the club. Apparently.

Guest defo
I know our fans are not maybe the best of friends at times but on behalf of Spurs can I say I'm right behind you all - Toon are just starting to look dangerous again and the thought of Coloccini, Spiderman and Oba pitching up at the Lane is not a nice one for us. What happened between us and ManU last night maybe underlines the need for a bit of solidarity between us "2nd tier" clubs. I lived a long time in Newcastle, and right through the 90s so know what Keegan is and I think we've seen him start to work again in the last few weeks (I admit I didn't think that would happen). Anyway, I don't think what's happening is right at all and am sorry to see the scenes outside SJP. Best of luck with it all.
