captainhaircut
Just caught Shearers v Everton and it reminded me of that side. Shearer, Robert and Solano could all strike them as could Bernard. We even had Ambrose and Jenas who occasionally caught one well. Who do we have nowadays, (edit: except Oba)? I can't remember the last time someone had a strike from outside the box and I fancied it to go in. When was the last time we scored one? Or even came close to scoring one? I've been racking my brains for a bit and the one I came up with was N'Zogbia V Boro last year. Bit depressing if thats it. A whole season without a goal from outside the box. Troll
I'm sure Butt got one last season. Not that he should make a habit of trying though.

Guest Stephen927
Barton has got a canny strike on him from distance. Not exactly prolific though.
captainhaircut
Not too many then. I think the point I was getting at was that we don't really have that threat anymore. Can Zog, Oba, Jonas or Joey provide it? Just looking at games over the last few weeks you can see its an important feature of the game.
La Parka
Guthrie got one for Bolton.

Guest
I can see Coloccini getting one 30-40 yarder at some point.
QBG
I know what you mean, it's not even with long range now. It's any free kick, I sigh and think who do we have that could just hit it here and have a realistic chance of going in. When we had Robert and Shearer every time we got a free kick you though we could score.

Skirge
We do not really seem to hit to many though do we, unless its a free kick, otherwise we try to walk it in.

HongKongMag
Guthrie can certainly hit them, as can Martins. Barton maybe, but to be honest none of them are in the same league as Robert or Shearer. Anyone else remember Spurs 0 - Robert 2?

ElDiablo
Our play's too slow for anyone to ever get a chance to shoot from distance, by the time we get up there the other team have 8/9 men back.
