Colours or not in Sunderland

Recommended Posts

I am.. gotta represent properly.. first game in the UK in years for me, last one was Leeds away (4-3) ..

I'm also thinking about smuggling some sort of pyros in the stands.. like a torch or something.. my mate says that would get me arrested and banned of football events in UK for years.. should I risk it?

Do it.

If you're getting the escorted buses I can't see why not, but if you're getting the train in then you're an absolute halfwit for doing so.

The bus into Sunderland is great, on leaving Newcastle people waving, clapping, car horns honking. Then you get into Sunderland people giving the V-sign, car horns beeping in disgust, kids with banners, nob jockeys standing at the pub near the SOL shouting "COME ON THEN".

alrite, fuck that.. it's just not worth it.. I don't give a fuck about the ban, as I don't plan to go to anymore games in UK in the near future, but I don't want to get pulled out in the middle of the game.. and just for the record, I ain't no hooligan idiot and torches are not explosive :)

anyway, my friend mentioned we'll be going with "the free bus".. what is this? is it 'safe'? or I didn't understand him properly?

You have to,  I see plenty of Mackems knocking about Newcastle in their strips.  It's only the charver's that will actually attack you for that anyway, anybody with reasonable intelligience will just have a bit of banter.

That seems to be the problem now  dosn't?

True, but I've always been fine apart from the odd knobhead shouting abuse.  Maybe they are so retarded they can't distinguish between Black and Red.

You have to realise we're dealing with a bunch of subhuman knobheads generally over there.  My son is at Sunderland Uni and got verbal abuse and threats last week for wearing his Toon shirt, and that was just crossing the road from the Metro station!!  :idiot2:

Personally I'd love to say wear your shirt with pride, as I have done in many cities around the UK, but frankly you are likely to get a kicking from the great unwashed.  Is it worth it?

I was once in the Bridges shopping centre in Sunderland (not through personal choice) and witnessed an old woman (who was at least 70 odd) pick up a Newcastle annual in a book shop and say to herself out loud in utter disgust "Newcastle? What's that doing here? This is Sunderland!".

Sunderland is full of vermin.

I go there too.  There's no way I'd wear my shirt.  Nearly did it on Monday before the match, but I just threw it in my bag instead.  The place is a fucking dive.

You trying to start a hooligan outfit?  The Newcastle Casuals?  It's not the 80's if people are that scared wear a jumper and take it off when you get in the ground.

it's not the 80's but it's very embarassing seeing our away support decked out in jester hats and black and white tops. Just have to look at Man United and Liverpools fans support probably the 2 best away in the country, could count 20 replica jerseys between there followings.

And scarves, hats, etc. I'm not entirely sure what this guy is getting at.
