Various bad news from this mornings papers (if true)

At least he's got some sense about Owen:

"‘I suppose people are waiting to grab him, so maybe we will lose him - but we can only lose him in the summer. It wouldn’t make sense to let him go next month. If we got players to strengthen the side, why weaken the striking department?’"

Would be fucking stupidity to let the best player at the club go in January just to get some money for him, will mean fuck all when we get relegated without Owen's goals.

The Enrique comment has been lifted straight out of the Souness book of man management.

I seriously cant believe that Enrique quote, jesus f***ing christ, this really is worst case scenario isnt it? we really do have the worst manager in the world in charge

could be, we have a good offer in for Enrique. and he willing to sell if we can get in a replacement.

Bullard would be a decent signing considering the state of the club.

He'd be a mammoth signing at this point in time with the Barton injury rumours, because he'd most likely improve one of the weakest areas in the team and could prevent Butt from starting every game - which ultimately could keep us in the Premiership. Decent passer of the ball, good free kick taker, proven in the Premiership, right age/experience level to come in and do an immediate job - sort of signing that could turn us into a decent side even though the player himself might not be top draw.

Must be a good chance of that move happening too because 1) we'll be offering more wages than tiny Fulham can afford, 2) this might be his only chance to move to a club with the potential/facilities/resources to be in Europe in the next few years should the current mess we're in be sorted out, and at his age he may not have too many chances for such a move (hence why the risk is one he'd surely be willing to take), 3) he'll be playing with better players than he's surrounded by at Fulham, and 4) if we do get relegated even with him in the side then chances are he'd easily get a move back to a lower mid table Premiership side.

Fulham would defend him tooth and nail though. I imagine we'd have to pay them 8m or some other large amount that he's not worth to even have a sniff.

Any player we bid for in January will most likely be at an inflated price if they're in the first team elsewhere. Bullard being in the England squad will also automatically add a few million onto his value. The only real saving grace is that at his age, Fulham might be tempted to cash in on a reasonable offer.

Maybe we could offer Alan Smith in the other direction?

That should add about 2m to his price.

If it keeps a post-another-injury Alan Smith out the team, no fee is too high for Bullard.

Enrique's far from Beye's level, but he's not a complete disaster. I don't understand why none of our managers have trusted him. Cacapa is far more error prone.

He won't come. The reason he moved from Wigan to Fulham had everything to do with London and moving back home. Wigan were doing pretty well when Fulham bought him and Fulham were doing shite so it's not like Europe or playing for a good team was high on his priority list and it's perfectly understandable.

Regarding his Enrique comment ; if he actually said that withouthaving a new left back lined up and Enrique on the move to another club, its one of the worst comments I have ever heard from a manager regarding a player from his own squad. If one considers the present state of the club one can conclude that that the scenario which could  justify his behavior is highly unlikely. Actually liked Kinnear in the beginning but he seems like a utter tosser in the light of this comment.

The things is until Ashley sells we have to put up with this. What kind of motivation will Enrique have, he has been pissed around alot by the club, I wouldn't blame him if he wanted out especially back home to Spain.

That quote about Enrique is embarrassing. What good can come from talking negatively to the press about one of your own players, he really seems to have a problem with going about his his business quietly.

I'm not averse to a better left back coming in, in fact I'd say it was second priority after midfielders but the whole point is the lack of cover. So replacing one left back with a midfielder as the only cover with another (probably better) full back with a midfielder as the only cover beggars belief.

Of course the motivational "boost" is another issue he should be shot for.

In many ways Kinnear is Ashley's perfect manager -a yes man who contradicts himself virtually every sentence which fits it perfectly with the owner's PR "style".
