Much more enjoyable seeing him in the white shirt curling into a fetal position and completely dissapear from a game whenever it is screaming for someone to step up and make something happen. At that time Spurs were probably in a stronger position overall, were more established and probably seemed like a more secure route to CL and regular England appearances. There's also the pull of London which may or may not be a factor. The same situation happens this summer transfer window and I think there's a different outcome. We're putting more players into the England camp, have shown consistent top finishes, two cup finals in three seasons and a desire to improve our players through coaching and mentoring. Two seasons ago, there were still question marks as we were early on in the project. But having said all of that, I think we're well past a player like Maddison now.
