alpal78
Although a new RB will be the biggest improvement to our first team, given that Shola is next in line (for one month) if Cisse and Ba leaves for ACON, strikers are arguably more urgent. still not convinced that Carroll is the answer to replace Cisse and Ba, but agree for us to get him back if it is under 10M
Nordstrom
He added: "It was a terribly expensive deal with the loan fee and with his wages, which were enormous - too much for a club like ours. "But, as the manager really wanted him, we were prepared to pay it. "Then there was a huge transfer fee which would have blown our budget for several years." These quotes are quite possibly the most irresponsible things I have ever seen attrbuted to a board member of a Premier League club To be prepared to spunk away several years transfer bugdet on a player currently going through a period of inconsistant form and whose heart wouldn't truely be in the club is beyond belief Andy Carroll - 'Who else are you planning to bring in to help the club prosper in the top flight?' David Gold - 'Well Andy, once you sign on the dotted line we have many other top level players in pipe line ready to snap up after the Olympics in Brazil' Absolutely agree with you on this. How daft is it for an owner of a football club to come out and explicitly state that he was willingly to back a deal which in realistic terms, isn't financially viable? Looking at how football finances are being dealt in the top leagues at the moment, I have to say I'm rather pleased that we have adopted a thrifty approach to acquiring footballing talent. morla84
How could Allardyce build a team around him if they were gonna blow the budget for several years on him? Idiotic! Glad those days are gone!

AyeDubbleYoo
At least when Ashley makes mistakes it's because he's financially motivated or doesn't understand football - not because he's a complete dribbling idiot. Imagine being owned by Sullivan and Gold man, jesus.
SUPERTOON
We are almost certain to go back on deadline day or just before for him like. We will be hoping by then Liverpool will be desperate to get rid.
jdckelly
the porn barons are being very loud at how they chased Carroll, almost like theres still a few season tickets to sell and they need gullible idiots to think they're ambitious rather than just planning to finish 17th

Probably not quite when it is a club like West Ham. They'll be happy to survive in the PL and Allardyce almost guarantees this imo.

Disagree, I think the fans want decent football and will have a rank time under him. Even if they stay up, they'll enjoy the result but not the season. But for the first year back in the Premier League they'll surely won't moan too much about it, will they?

Quite a few of their fans hated his football last season, it's only going to get worse for them as well.
