Wow!!  In other news Lee, Newcastle will need to score more goals than Tottenham to win on Saturday but if they score the same number of goals then a draw is more than likely.

The Souness era was the most depressing I've has as a supporter. He destroyed everything.

Those years were soul destroying.  From when Keegan left the only bright flash we had was SBR.  Felt like we were paying a pennance.

Andy Carroll was the only player who didn't get on the coach with the #LFC squad. He was escorted to a separate car. pic.twitter.com/licuxYoH

I'm surprised more hasn't been made of this. Especially as someone just said they are stood next to him in he players in public thread

I think he often goes straight back to Newcastle after games.

What a mess of a bloke. Getting a fucking haircut. :) Maybe the Samson fable will work in reverse. Get haircut = able to kick ball again?

Didn't he become good for us after growing that hair?

Always believed long hair = greatness. Pattison would have been immense if he didn't get a chop.

It's doing no good at the moment. But it would help if your manager had even a little bit of faith in you.

If AC had any sense he would get out of Liverpool whenever he gets the chance, even if it is to West Ham, try to insist on a loan and you've got a year in the shop window, even working with Big Fat Sam has got to be better than only be used when desperate or run out of ideas?

There's lots of chatter on Twitter this evening about him coming to us.

Not sure what I think about that (assuming the price is right). We struggle to get the ball to the front men (although, impressively, Sky had us having 66% possession at West Ham yesterday, which is certainly a change from last year, even if most of it was passing the ball in nice midfield triangles that didn't go anywhere).

Rumour is the fee for Carroll is 16m, but they still owe us 8m for Downing, meaning we're chucking them 8m for him.

If Carroll didn't want to go to West Ham, I can't see him being interested in Villa. Lambert may improve them, but Villa at this moment in time just don't appear to be attractive club to join for any young player with international hopes. Both them and Sunderland seem to be the league's "going nowhere" clubs: enough to stay up but little else to offer.

Villa's a step down from West Ham  IMO The only people who think Villa are "big" and "attractive" are the Birmingham local media and Stan Collymore (and even he's not sure)
