Mowen
His decline for me seemed to occur halfway through 03-04. In the 2nd half of that season he didn't register a single away goal. In 04-05 he managed 4 premiership away goals from open play, yet people still sing the same old song. People need to move on Are you kidding? You bring up that time more than anyone else, and I haven't seen anyone claim he was our player of the season in 04-05.

Anyway, no more arguing from me, legend, great player, solid bloke. Held us back for 2 seasons, that's my opinion

Bramble played him in over the top, from a tight angle he hit a thunderbolt into the top corner from the edge of the area to score his 250 Premiership goal. I think that was still the Shearer of old. Fatwax
I doubt we'd have finished 7th in his final season if he hadn't have been by Roeders' side after he was sidelined. Just my opinion, like.. but I think he had a lot of sway in the dressing room and this contributed to that brilliant run we had. Souness leaving helped as well, mind. AyeDubbleYoo
He definitely seemed to help Roeder at that time... whenever his decline did or didn't start the man was a legend. Sadly Owen doesn't have a period of incredible success with the club to make us forgive his inevitable decline.
Dinho lad
On The Times today Phill Brown says that Wenger never shaked hands with him in the 3 meetings so far this season. Kinda embarrassing for him because they (The Times) published a picture of them doing so with that report. You also don't hear him now going on about how he wants to manage England , hey? M4
I just wish people could tell it like it is/was. The fact that Shearer will be most peoples pick for player of the season in 04-05 says it all Been said already but no one at any point was saying that. In that particular game he was absolutely class is all. I could return the question: why can't you call it like it is, instead of apparently painting all the games he played in his final 2 seasons with your same brush? M4
Tangent: that was class couple of weeks for him. That away game against West Ham was next I think... 1 goal, 1 and half assists, a save off the line...
M4
so you're in agreement that he didn't have a stormer He did what he had to do and set up the goal, unsettled their side... maybe he didn't score 4 goals but it certainly wasn't a performance that warranted criticism quite the opposite. M4
Why exactly do Liverpool so strongly not want to play on the 20th anniversary? Always the same with them, asking for attention. Why throw a fit over this just because they can? Plus you'd think they'd love to play on the anniversary would be a good way to commemorate life going on and how they are still strong... plus they could go mental with 10 minutes silence or something. Just messing up the schedule for everyone just for the sake or it.
Ronaldo
attention seekers, just like their army of plastic, cowardly fans. If anything you'd think they'd request to play on that day
