themanupstairs
In discussing the final this morning, colleague of mine imparts this diamond of wisdom on me: "team that scores more goals and concedes less will win. simple". Took me a while to get it, but I think he's spot on

Guest Darth Toon
I had recently started to not hate Chelsea quite as much. Last night brought it all flooding back though - horrible bunch of whining, classless, arrogant tossers - so glad they got knocked out and the element of injustice only serves to make it all the sweeter imo. Kaizero
Personally I think it's gone a bit far with the death threats and listing of his address on a "Kill him" type of group on Facebook, and the journos following him to Norway. A game of football shouldn't mean a man has to fear for his own and his family's safety for gods sake
Dave
'A bit'? He'll end up retiring like that other one. Pathetic really.
Shak
Sending off and the Pique handball were the only decisions I actually thought he got wrong myself. So it evened out in the end. Got the Malouda one spot on, Alves fouled him outside the box and then it spilled in to the box where any further contact was only minor and really not something you can give a penalty for. Other two were never penalties, laughable the amount of hysteria over the incident at the end.
oldtype
Funny note, we should have had the same decision when Heskey was fouled outside the box when we played Wigan away. similar wasnt it? Nah, it was actually a lot worse. Heskey started going down five yards outside of the box and then slowly dragged himself inside for what felt like about five seconds. joeyt
I say this every time, but I saw Iniesta play when he was 16, and he was by far the best player in tournament
Dinho lad
I’ve just seen all of last night's hysteria for the first time.... and I gotta say something... I really felt sorry for the referee as the Chelsea players at end of the match were hounding him. He just looked so scared and sorry. I really didn’t like seeing that. I hope UEFA punish them heavily, and also individually. Is there a more despicable player in English football than Didier Drogba? What an arrogant cunt. You’re just an overpaid footballer, no better and no more important than anyone else in this world. What an ugly dickhead. I hope he will be given a hard time on and off the pitch from now on. Would love to see Everton beat them in the cup final now.
