Guest evertoniansrmongs
how is it remotely similar to keegans rant.. Keegan was emotional.. Rafa was just a cool bastard pulling a list out of his pocket and reading it like a charge sheet.. Rafa did similar thing with Valencia when he overhauled a 12 point lead in his last season with insinuating that Real Madrid had paid the ref with a dodgy pen which madrid got.. It nearly caused a riot but was funny.. I think the more successful Rafa the more of these random sly digs we will see
Guest quklaani
More ranting. I honestly think he's losing it a little bit. Going on about how SAF has been making shocking attacks when all that was said was the following in an interview: "There's no doubt that in the second half of the season they will get nervous," Ferguson declared. "With the experience we've got, having won a couple of titles in the past couple of years especially, it helps you. There's no doubt about that. "They're going into the unknown, and if you make mistakes, then you get punished." Seems a pretty reasonable assessment.
LoveItIfWeBeatU
Why is it that when anyone points out what a twat Alex Ferguson is the media say they've "lost it" or they've "cracked under the pressure"?
Dave
Why is it that when anyone points out what a twat Alex Ferguson is the media say they've "lost it" or they've "cracked under the pressure"? Because it generally coincides with Manchester United winning the title. The media will say exactly the same if/when Liverpool don't win it this year. KaKa
Yup, and with the way the results have gone this weekend, after Rafas statement, Rafas come out lookigng pretty goofy and the pressure has certainly been cranked up on Liverpool.
Guest Phil K
Have you noticed how the rags are trying to present this as another Keegan thing ? Not to the jizz-fest extent they did (and still do, pathetically) with Keegan, mainly due to so many of them being Liverpool fans, but Rafa is ansolutely right. It would seem to me to be more Rafa doing a Fergie on Fergie.
Neil
I don't know why people are reading much into the whole Keegan similarities. It's different yeah, but do you really expect the media to define the differences? They'll just give a presumptuous broad comparison.
James
He's just rejected a contract offer. Wants Parry removed from club control, he either wants a technical director, or all football funds placed under his direct control.

Tooj
So that's Rafa who wants full control, Wenger & Ferguson come out and back Keegan, and it's the reason why Mourinho left last season. If only the best managers had to take orders from Dennis Wise eh?

If only the best managers had to take orders from Dennis Wise eh? mourinho left because it started to go bad and his way round it was to go all FM08 and just try and buy his way out of trouble. all managers have limited authority in the transfer market (even keegan under the halls, when they wouldn't but him beppe signori). if wenger or ferguson go to their boards and say they want to compete with citeh for kaka....what do you think they'll be told ? By having more control of transfer policy and the youth team? Isn't that what being a manager is, having control over these things?

Bad Mongo
but a manager must also be aware of his constraints. maybe his board don't think rafa is too aware of his ? Then they could give him a budget and tell him to work within that.
