Fenham Mag
Dave Watson Is New Under-18s Coach By Dan King - Newcastle United Club Reporter Former England international defender Dave Watson has been appointed as the club's new Under-18s Coach. Previously Youth Team Coach at Wigan, where he also assisted Graham Barrow in managing the Latics' Reserve team, Watson starts his new role on Monday morning. He joined Wigan in April 2008, and has managerial experience with Everton - the side he made more than 400 league appearances for between 1986 and 2001 - and Tranmere Rovers. The 49-year-old started his playing career with Liverpool but moved to Norwich without making a first-team appearance. With the Canaries he won the Milk Cup in 1985, beating Sunderland in the final, and also lifted the Division Two title. He also won the first of 12 England caps before moving to Everton, where he won the Division One trophy in 1987 and the FA Cup in 1995. Watson played alongside Newcastle's Football Development Manager, Peter Beardsley, and worked under Reserve Team Manager Willie Donachie at Goodison Park. He replaces Frankie Bunn, who became assistant manager at Rochdale in the summer, and will work alongside Academy Manager Joe Joyce in coaching the club's table-topping under-18s side. Joyce said: "Dave will be a great asset. He brings with him a wealth experience as a player and as a coach and we're delighted to have him with us." Watson will give his first interview as the club's Under-18s Coach exclusively to nufc.co.uk on Monday. http://www.nufc.co.uk/articles/20111107/dave-watson-is-new-under-18s-coach_2281670_2506330 http://img717.imageshack.us/img717/7349/liverpooleverton998426c.jpg He knows how to deal with a cunt-face youth for starters . sportnet
From nufc.com And that number is soon set to be swelled, with Alan Pardew confirming that Shane Ferguson, Haris Vuckic and Mehdi Abeid are all in line for loan spells, preferably in the Championship (although at least one SPL club has been watching Fergie in the reserves this season). Ash
When they've played together a little more, Campbell and Hooper could form a superb partnership. Hooper's a beast, extremely strong and has a good amount of pace too.
Robster
Hooper's a beast, extremely strong and has a good amount of pace too. Isn't that the type of typical 'English' player that we should be trying not to produce ? (I haven't seen him to be fair, so he may be very technically gifted)

Not sure why you wouldn't want us to produce powerful and pacey players?

Scoreboard82
I've just realised that it's the mackems away on Wednesday, it should be a good game. Many going over for this? Was a good turnout last year and decent atmosphere. Wondering what Tyne tunnel traffic will be like about 6pm for getting there. Don't suppose parking at the SOS will be a problem.
