Yes it is Mamadou Doucouré who played in the 8-2 win... and he was apparently good. I asked Ole Söderberg and he confirmed it.

I remember one of the first things he did when he got appointed was say about getting a lot of our young players out. Refreshing :thup:

Still, it'll be a good frame of reference for how good he is. If he performs really well then at least Pardew knows Airey can transfer his talent from reserves to a higher level. Hope he does really well, seems to get his head down and get on with it

Airey's at the age now when he needs this sort of spell out on loan. If he does well, we either keep him or get a fee for him - if not, we can be sure that we're not missing out on a good player.

Yep, all credit to him for that

 

Going out on loan just about anywhere is far better for youngsters than playing in the reserve league 3 pots in kickabouts
