WarrenBartonCentrePartin
JOE KINNEAR STAYING PUT Newcastle aim to keep manager, Chris Hughton and Colin Calderwood NEWCASTLE have put together a package to keep managerial team Joe Kinnear, Chris Hughton and Colin Calderwood at the club until 2011. Caretaker-boss Hughton has already signed a deal that will keep him at St James’ Park for the best part of another 2½ years. Kinnear still has the offer of a two-year deal on the table as he recovers from a triple heart bypass and now owner Mike Ashley wants Calderwood to stay beyond the end of the season. The former Nottingham Forest boss signed a short-term deal when he joined Kinnear’s staff but his role has increased greatly since Kinnear’s op. He will be offered a contract to match the length of Kinnear and Hughton. Toon bosses believe the three can turn around the club’s fortunes after a season of managerial upset. http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/sport/217431/JOE-KINNEAR-STAYING-PUT-Newcastle-move-to-keep-manager-Chris-Hughton-and-Colin-Calderwood.html

Juliano Belletti, Paolo Ferreira and Hilario look sure to leave while Chelsea will also listen to offers for Florent Malouda, Branislav Ivanovic and Salomon Kalou. (News of the World) If Chelsea are clearing down the fringes I doubt other clubs can match what some of them players are getting £££'s so Chelsea may have to sell some of there younger fringe players to help cut costs. If that was the case, I like Scott Sinclair has pace, can beat man, got 1st team games under his belt & would improve our RW spot. Ryan Bertrand has looked good the few times I have seen him play for Norwich at LB. There are a few others below Chelsea 1st team level that interest me as they went on a mad spree when Frank Arnsen 1st joined so English players of certain age are at Chelsea. Of course if ICON winner Carl Magnay was leaving I wouldn't mind us giving him trial as he was born in Birtley.

Us & QPR are looking at him. Also Colo is not in the next Argie squad but Jonas is.

Zero
We deadly need to hire a manager, either temporary or permanent, asap or we're dead-certain to relegate this season.
LoveItIfWeBeatU
We deadly need to hire a manager, either temporary or permanent, asap or we're dead-certain to relegate this season. It's worth doing if for nothing more than we may get the 'new manager honeymoon period' which could actually save us from relegation.

gdm
I would take Venables coz we are desperate but no where near who i'd hope
Guest Howaythetoon
Venables would be a good choice as he is at least a good coach and a good tactician, and will command more than a bit of respect in the dressing room. Furthermore he can speak Spanish which I imagine would be of some help to the likes of Colo, Xisco, Jonas and Enrique.
Guest Phil K
Venables would be great. As such, it won't happen. The pair we have are made in the blackest of nightmares. Besides, Venables has already said no to a short term stay.
Guest Stephen927
Venables might be more interested in discussing a deal until the end of the season at the least, reason he rejected us last time was because he was asked to do the job for a month and didn't feel that was enough time to make much of an impact. Would be a right joke, a temporary manager to come in and replace our temporary manager.
Dave
Venables turned down six matches, but he'd come for nine? Nah.
Pilko
Venables turned down six matches, but he'd come for nine? Nah. He might if there was a "if you keep us up, a guaranteed contract worth £x for x years" clause.
