cubaricho
I feel like we sent him out on loan to keep him match fit for when/if we go back up into the Prem. He's clearly of top-flight caliber and the powers that be probably didn't want to off-load him just yet after he didn't get a fair crack at it here the first season. You're right, I'm sorry. We sent him out on loan 'cause he's shit and we're trying to get a fee for him, that gay blade. Carroll and Ranger are both clearly better than him at playing football AND being men! Village Idiot
Today Racing plays Atlético de Madrid away for the first leg of the Copa del Rey's semifinals. I wonder if he'll start since Miguel Ángel Portugal (Racing's manager) benched him alongside a lot of first teamers this past Sunday. Racing have never reached the final of the competition during all their story. It is also Atlético's last chance to salvage the season. IF we assume Sevilla wins the other semifinal against Getafe, it's a free ticket to the Europa League. Ignore me. Game is this Thursday, not today. Ketsbaia
I was just talking to a Galician friend and dropped the Xisco signing, that's more or least what he said "Who's the blind guy making the signings at Newcastle? Here they say they paid €7m+3m... that's utter madness, he's not bad but not worth even half of that, he's not a great not in the least. Anyway Depor fans should build a monument to Newcastle... Luque, Coloccini, Xisco... at last Lendoiro (Depor's owner) found the investor he needed to salvage the finances of the club!" Thought Coloccini was good at Depor? And how is Guardado doing there? I'd love him to be our next 'victim' (except with good performances!)...
Village Idiot
Guardado's been great, he's said several times that he is hesitant to move to a non-Hispanic country though, since he believes he'd have problems adapting. Coloccini was good at Depor indeed, it was just the fee that raised eyebrows. He's never been a €12m defender.
Guest Treks
Everything good from an attacking aspect from Depor comes down that left hand side by Guardado & Filipe. With Fliple recovering from that horrfic injury Depor will sorely miss him imo. As for tonights game, Atleti spanked Racing 4 nil midweek in the Copa but you just knew they wouldn't repeat that performance nor scoreline. Finished 1-1 which was probably a fair result on the night. Sevilla were beaten by Zaragoza 2-1 and had two players harshly sent off imo. Jiménez rested big players and it backfired. Mallorca have stayed in 4th and Valencia are running away with the 3rd spot. Little game of guess who here lads, Check this picture out and see if u can guess who this young man is. http://upload.7bna.com/uploads/83869ca19b.jpg Edit: I thought this was the La Liga thread haha. Quick comment on Xisco. As we all kno he is a terrible player. he is nothing more than a sub at Racing. Read somewhere that he has been subbed as a sub twice already this season. He is decent at holding up the ball but he doesn't have a future with us at Newcastle. cut our losses i say. Thanks Wise
Guest Heneage
David Silva no? As for Xisco in the reserves Spence I got a response of 'alright, knew he wasn't wanted mind.' I think he's not had a chance, I fail to see why players should be judged on training so much, Shola's infamous as being a fantastic trainer, but he is often useless on the pitch. Thespence
Cheers Kez I though Xisco was brilliant tonight for Racing. Hopefully he will get a run out midweek against A.Madrid.
Guest Treks
Bingo Kezman. Indeed tis little David Silva. My mate showed me it, i thought it was sergio busquets or pedro at first lol. He was having a trail at Madrid and the reason for rejecting him was down to hes size. They thought he was too small to be a football player. Xisco played mid week vs Atleti. Barely got a look in mind. Atleti dominated them from start to finish.

Though I'd expect a lot better then Xisco of Also I don't remember any of their fans I heard from being anything but upset when we took Coloccini from them. Coloccini was good at Depor indeed, it was just the fee that raised eyebrows. He's never been a €12m defender. A lot of their fans I heard from thought he was world class for them. Obviously to Depor that was a massive fee but as usual you have to pay above a clubs actual valuation to get one of their top players.

Paully
Xisco and Toni Jiménez = brothers http://www.deportivo-la-coruna.com/squad/xisco.html FRANCISCO JIMÉNEZ TEJADA 'XISCO' Date of Birth: 26 June 1986 City of Birth: Palma de Mallorca, Mallorca Nationality: Spain Contract: 2003 - 2010 Transfer: ? Previous Clubs: Deportivo B Buy-out Clause: €12 million Height: ? Weight: ? Positions: Attacker (central) There were seven Liga matches left, and Xisco started in six of them, but the striker didn’t add another goal. Lotina was right that strikers score in phases, and now Xisco got more attention of opposing defenders. A few months before it was a Valladolid defender who asked a reporter about this guy who had made them crazy during the first match of Deportivo’s revival. Now he was closely watched by opponents, something which benefited the team. Against Bilbao (a 3-0 win), he fought like a lion, was classy and one effort hit the post. At Osasuna (a 0-1 win), he was completely isolated. But he was a nightmare for the defence of FC Barcelona (a 2-0 win) although, again, he failed luck as his best effort hit the woodwork. Of course, the summer transfer period was coming near and new rumors appeared about supposed interest of other clubs in Xisco. His agent, his brother Toni Jiménez, admitted that “there’s interest from some English and Spanish clubs and one from Italy, but they haven’t contacted Deportivo yet”. Feyenoord Rotterdam was related to him, but Toni Jiménez said that his brother had Deportivo as his first option: “He wants to continue although he’ll get new colleagues next year, but I doubt it’ll be another Bebeto, Rivaldo or Makaay”. He also revealed that Xisco was open to a contract renewal: “I haven’t spoken with anyone of the club since this summer, when we arranged his professional contract. But to extend the deal is possible. We are looking forward to hear from them”.
Village Idiot
I've heard that their attacking midfielder Juan Rodriguez has been their best player this season. I think that until his injury it clearly was Filipe Luis, I am afraid we (Barça) missed on a potential gem there. €15m for a non-international leftback was a bit of a steep asking price though. Village Idiot
An(toni)o Jiménez is an awfully common name in Spain, I have two friends named that way for starters. And wasn't "your" Toni Jiménez and Englishman despite his name, to begin with?

He was Babayaro's agent and he has done a lot of business in Spain.
