Jill
I don't know if it's just because it hasn't hit me yet, but I'm a lot less devastated than I thought I would be. Maybe I was just resigned to it.

gdm
i keep getting right up for the championship and then getting a little sad about the premiership. its all a bit strange at the moment. Im excited about the prospect of building a new squad. The prospect of maybe having a little more to cheer about on a weekly basis next season. its just the sad thought of leaving the premiership behind isnt going away
Shearergol
Think this place is gonna get very very quiet?
Guest Petay
I've been mulling this over since yesterday, and I think the thing that really upset me is that we really deserved to go down. If you look at it objectively apart from the fans everything else about our team this season meant we should go down. In the run in only 1 result didn't go 100% in our favour, Hull drew last week, our players have lacked any kind of drive and creativity except for flashes against Boro (1 shot all second half when we we're meant to be fighting for our survival), there has been a string of poor managment decisions (both at board and team level, and I am including appointing Shearer in this). The bottom 6 in the Premier league this season would have gone down in pervious seasons and what really hurts is that we really deserve to be in this inglorious group in fact I think we were on balance perhaps the second worst club in the Premiership, perhaps the worst in you look at the big picture of board, players and management. One more thing our lost yeaterday caused a massive bust up with my girlfriend, which when I stop sulking I'm going to have to work very hard to make up for, so in two days time when I'm eating humble pie with flowers in my hand while on the way to cook a make-up meal, its actually Newcastle United's fault (ok 70% their fault)! Flip
In the end this might be the best that could happen to this club, i was resigned to being relegated ever since the draw to Stoke but i still had hope in me and i still had faith on the players, unfortunately 've been proved wrong. I believe that this relegation and the fact that we've been recruiting young players such as Soderberg, Tozer, Kadar, Ranger, Vukcevic will be enought o get us back up and stronger than ever. Had this been 3 seasons ago i wouldn't have faith in going straight back up, and i hate to say this but Wise have prepared us for relegation. Lets now get back on track, 46 games next season to get us back to where we belong. There are so many to blame, but by blaming each other this club will never succeed, we have the most important challenge that we've ever had, not going straight up will only mean that we will be the new Leeds! Lets prove the doubters wrong and lets get us straight back up! Howay the LADS! It's time for rehabiliation at the club.

Guest
To be honest, Duff's the sort of player who could turn into a cult-hero for us next season. He'll obviously have to take a massive pay cut, but I'd be more than happy to see him in the side next season.
ikri
Duff is staying btw Of course he's going to stay. Who else is going to pay him £60000 every week so he can be carried in almost every game he plays in. For what we're paying him we could pick up 6 players 10 years his junior with 10x his ambition and determination.

I don't rate him but at least he's genuine and he'll do a job at that level.
Gallowgate Toon
I'd only keep Duff if his wages were slashed at least half.
LiquidAK
Yep, Duff impressed me these last few games, as well as showing that he cared he put in some decent shifts. Wouldn't mind seeing him stay at all, with a paycut of course.
Munkey
not as devastated as i expected to be. slightly depressed but, as people have said, it was expected given the performances of the past season. will be interesting to see what happens over the next few weeks and months regarding a clean out and rebuilding process
J7
Duff would be a great Championship player, however we can't keep him on the money he's on.

Keefaz
I'm sorry, but Duff has been a ma-hassive waste of money. A fucking terrible, terrible signing. Even when fit he has done almost nothing. He creates nothing and his goal-scoring record is, what, 1 goal a season? Shite.
AlanSkÃrare
Duff will be a good squad player and better than most left-wingers we'd be able to aquire in the Championship. Cut his wages and I'd happily keep him.
