http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Mike-Ashley-set-to-remain-in-charge-of-Newcastle-for-another-season-article132003.html

Mike Ashley is poised to take Newcastle United off the market and stay in charge for another year.

Prospective owner Barry Moat is struggling to raise the £100 million to buy the club, meaning Ashley is set to retain control and appoint a long term boss.

Tyneside businessman Moat is having to borrow the majority of the asking price from banks and a large slice from Ashley, but has to raise around £20 million of his own cash which is a problem.

It is believed that Moat has an agreement with Barclays to finance the club’s pds 39 million overdraft, as long as it is quickly reduced to around pds 10 million, but can’t meet Ashley’s price.

Ashley has repeatedly extended a deadline for Moat to strike a deal and raise the cash, and patience is running out. That could open the door for David O’Leary or Joe Kinnear to be appointed boss.

The Sports Direct tycoon, who has been encouraged by the 43,000-plus home crowds this season, laughed off chants from the Geordie crowd for him to go.

Newcastle take on Huddersfield tonight with former heroes Lee Clark and Terry McDermott returning to St James’s Park.

The Geordies have had a good start to the league season but Chris Hughton has admitted their ten point haul has “papered over the cracks.”

The squad is wafer thin with just 14 players who have started more than ten games for the club.

Steven Taylor, Fabricio Coloccini and Jonas Gutierrez could yet be sold, deals that would leave United with just two experienced defenders.

I bet you can make at least a page or two out of people saying "400 pages!" etc :p

You can easily take out 494 pages of nothing tbh :pow:

Including 90% of your post's

Well if people like you read what was posted instead of asking crap questions that 90% wouldnt be there. :knuppel2:

What questions have I asked?? numpty.

If people like you didn't have a go at every other post the thread would be a lot shorter.

Where is the coin the fat cunt & the streaker are raking in off player sales, better than expected crowds & £££'s the club are getting for being on TV more often than Phil Tuffnell going, as the overdraft aint coming down & the sale price is not dropping.

it's been explained a thousand times.

it'll be going into the black hole of debt the club had. even the better than expected crowds (only 2 so far so it wont make much of a dent in things) and tv revenue (not a great deal in the fizzy pop league) will not alter things. my guess is we are still running oat a quite considerable loss.

Players fee will be on credit as usual so maybe only a deposit received.

Better than expected crowds are still considerably down on the money made last year.

More TV? 4 games so far compared to 3 out of the first 4 last year at considerably higher fees.

Anything coming in is no doubt fighting against the wages in the overdraft tbh.

It's staggering. Even if Ashley were to sell up for £80 million and agree to write off £100 million of debt there will still be people saying he's coined money out of the club.
