Redheugh gives the impression the Americans are about ready to sign on the dotted line.

Reports say they have been in contact for a couple of weeks. Has it been confirmed/denied that they have completed due dilligance yet?

Do they need to carry out the full process of due dilligence if they are not reliant on bank funding etc, they may agree the sale and tell Ashley if he is trying to rip them off then he can kiss goodbye to his knee caps lol, Ashley didn't do any of this did he (due dilligence) when he purchased the club hence the s*** he found regarding the debt.

If they have done due dilligence and are happy with what the outcome is, and if a deal is all agreed in prinicple, there is nothing stopping them from doing what the Arab did at Man City, and sign a Sales Purchase agreement (SPA) Which then legally binds both parties to the purchase/sale of the club, which means they can get on and run the club as they wish while all paperwork is being completed

I think you're right, and this means there's no agreement yet. In this moment I couldn't care less though, I just would like that...whoever brought some players in, don't care how or who, we just need more players before the bloody window shuts! Then they can go on with the takeover, hoping that in the meanwhile we can keep a decent league position till January.

He's down in Magaluf, probably trying to get some backing from one/some of these mega rich nightclub owners, or suchlike!

If the Americans did fly in for a meeting with SP it would suggest something is imminent, pretty sure businessmen at that level don't fly halfway round the world to discuss minor details that need ironing out, or at least not without the view that they CAN be ironed out and progress rapidly from there. So I'm a little excited, but I swear it's the last time I'll ever get excited if it comes to nowt!

I think I'm beyond caring right now TBH. A takeover, any additional recruits and a proper manager would be a bonus, but I'm not expecting anything positive to happen. Job done I guess for Ashley, he's almost got us to a stage where we appreciate what we have and not expect any more from him.

Wasn't there an article about some other group flying in not too long ago. I don't think we've heard about them again since. No telling what in the world is happening.

Rich Yanks buying the club, put Moat in to run the day to day stuff since he has a link to the club/city, that'd be the ideal situation imo. Screw it I'm excited again.

 just because you say these things doesn't change the fact they have no basis in reality.

To be honest I wouldn't mind if he was running our club. I don't think the likes of Barton, Nolan and Carroll would piss about knowing Bubba was paying your wages and could call you into the office alone..

We may aswell just consign ourselves to the fact that theres going to be no transfer activity until atleast Jan (unless its free/loan signings). Even if these americans have flown in for talks they're only doing so with Seymour Peirce who are just going to recommend them to Ashley if they think they're good for the money. It'll then drag onto Ashley to accept which we all know isn't going to be swift.

Absolutely. No chance in hell, even if this is true, that anything will be done in time for us to save this transfer window. It was over when we got Simpson in on loan, fantastic stuff eh ?

What a snoozefest.

To be fair, Snoozefest 2003 was actually a lot more entertaining than the last 500+ pages of whispers, bullshit, exaggerated half truths and witterings by mad men.
