From the BBC website:

England are the Newcastle of the international world!

Great support, not won anything in 50 years, think they're bigger than they perhaps are, managed by someone whose highlight is reaching the Europa League final..

Ugh, shut up.

It's just so tiresome.

A bloke at work the other day chucked out the cliché that we didn't like Pardew because he was a southerner. I tried to put him right but had to walk off in the end before I did something I would regret.

There's no greater way to overcome that argument than this, I find.

Hughton - Southerner - Loved

Pardew - Hated

Carver - from Newcastle - Hated.

You're right but I generally find people are not interested in rational arguments. They are told Newcastle = a deluded, geordie nation and are quite happy to look no further because it means they don't have to do any thinking.

Is it just me or are players just getting games because of the club's they are at? Perhaps I'm giving Hodgson too much credit and he's just a moron.

If I'd made a sub it would have been Henderson for Kane and Jones for Clyne or any fucker but that substitution.

How can any manager not pick Walcott?

 Of course, it's been happening for years now.
