Full-back area weak like. Actually we'd be very poor attacking on the right in that formation.

I couldn't bring myself to put Carr in.

Could play Dyer on the right with Bowyer (hmm, bad idea?) or Jenas (:puke:) in the centre?

Hmmm - it assumes the fitness of some crocks. For instance Woodgate, Dyer and Saha are always in the physio room.

EDIT: As those with faster fingers than me suggested

Interesting hypothetical, but that's all it is, a hypothetical. On paper the squad we had last year should have kept us up, but football isn't played on paper...

I'd only play Dyer on the right if we made him captain.

it's not much better than the side we had last season, if at all. If Allardyce was the manager they would have scraped 16th.

eh?! is that a wind up?

you know we had Butt, Nolan and Duff in our midfield last season dont you?

Jenas should be there instead of Milner, and Bramble should easily be somewhere in that defence on current

the team would pushing the top 6 imo

Bramble instead of which Faye? Abdoulaye I take it? I would disagree. Faye and Woodgate would be a very solid pairing, imo. Yes, pairing Bramble with Woody would make a huge improvement to his game but Faye is a strong, no nonsense CH as opposed to Woodgate's calmer almost more 'continental' style of defending.

Distan-Woodgate, anyone?

Feck me thats a scary looking side.

Griffin and hughes would have been ripped apart, we would have had to pray Parker was fit, because Dyer wouldnt have played all season.

Milner and N'Zogbia would have been frustrating and missing with equal measure.

You know Bellamy and Owen would both be crocked at the same time, Saha not far behind.

Woodgate and Given would have been off in January blaming the clubs ambition and weak squad. Luckily the Centre of defence might actually have been our strongest part.

Jenas would start the most games. Bowyer would have been more useless than Nolan.

SAF would have struggled to keep that team up IMO.

Team would probably would have to had looked more like this regularly.

                Given

Bramble Woodgate Distin

                  Faye

Milner  Jenas    Parker  N'Zogbia

Which ever crocked striker was fit

In a season where they had 3 managers, a club in turmoil and backed up by championship level transfers in in January, they would go down.

Tbf we're all saying "assuming they're fit", but if our squad this season was fit all year then I think we would have stayed up. We only needed 1 point, a fully fit Viduka in every game would have got that imo.
