Segun Oluwaniyi
Lyon have literally gave up. Same can't be said of their supporters. Brilliant noise. Be a bit of a shame if Lyon and/or Bordeaux miss out on the CL next season. Can't see Auxerre, Lille or Montpellier being up to much in it. Lille have some really nice players and a decent squad, so I think they would put up a good challenge. Auxerre could be competitive with some improvement, but I don't really think they have the money to psuh forward, their title challenge this year was a surprise. Montpellier would have no chance. Lyon will be in the CL places if they win their match in hand anyway. Not sure if they will anyway, after how poor they were today. Hehe, I'm in New York so I'm far from the hype, but for the little I hear people are pumped. Everyone is telling us off, so we'll at least "die killing" like we say in Spain. We need to adopt this for English.
David28
OMG. Can't find any words for that. Bayern should have dropped out in the group stages, in the finals against Florenz and Man U. Now they're going to the final. Can only hope for the special one now. He'll do it. What German team do you support? Assuming you support one. I'm a bit fan of Augsburg (because that's the locally closest club of the first two leagues to me) and I've started fancying Hamburg a bit the time Van der Vaart played for them. Still like them and they're probably my favourite team in the Bundesliga. But I'm not supporting any team really like I do with Newcastle.

Lille do have a decent enough squad but will it not get plundered over the summer? I'm no expert on Auxerre but if they were to gamble & spend a fair bit on new players wouldn't that jeopardise them as they have quite a small budget due to being from a small town etc. That manager who was there for 30+ years still on the scene? Nobody
Got to say, I'm really looking forward to the game tonight. Hate Inter, but I love Jose, so hoping that they'll go through. Still wouldn't be disappointed to see Barca in the final mind. Win/win basically

As things stand they will have to play against the 3rd bottom placed team of the Bundesliga (Bochum at the moment). But Augsburg lost a bit of the momentum they had earlier in the season. So I can see them failing from now to the end of the season. Obviously I hope for promotion to see the "big guns" of the Bundesliga playing here. Village Idiot
Just caught a clip of a Spanish TV interviewing Barça fans in the streets, and they showed one disguised as Ronaldinho...
Canuck
Catalan fella at my work is twisted in knots!! He can't sit still and keeps stopping by my office to ask me what I think. I told him Inter would get an away goal so Barca had to score 4 - he looked distressed... He said he was on the phone to his family four times in the last 12 hours asking them what was going on. The word is that the Barca fans have honked their car horns outside of the Inter hotel all night. They are also chanting about "leaving their skin on the pitch"!!??!! That sounds foul but I think it gets lost in translation.
David28
The word is that the Barca fans have honked their car horns outside of the Inter hotel all night. If that's true I just hope Mourinho has told everybody bar his players/stuff a wrong hotel.

Ketsbaia
Apparantly after their match against Xerez, the players were instructed to wear shirts talking about "leaving their skin on the pitch" (as Canuck said) to build up the atmosphere for tonight. The players looked uncomfortable and overall it seems a bit naff. But they're trying to graduate from the 'Sky Sports school of mega-hype'..... I'm sure VI knows more of it

ponsaelius
Yeah, been reading on their forum and there is some massive hype machine building behind this game. http://www.esportiu.cat/wp-content/uploads/deixaremlapell.jpg http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc3/hs448.snc3/25693_1443776700355_1411252868_31193997_7182258_n.jpg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jm1pqWstmdQ&feature=player_embedded

ponsaelius
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b5HsqrDVsUs&feature=player_embedded Undecided on this kind of thing tbh. I guess it's nice to see the passion behind it and if it comes off then fair play, however it all seems a bit overstated. Maybe they should just focus on the football. I have been nervous the whole fucking morning at work, and while my boss usually ignores me, today he's chosen to hold a couple impromptu meetings. I'm trying to not get myself too hopeful, so the disappointment isn't so big. But still... Aggggggggggghhhhhhhhh All the media, shirts, etc... thing is something that this board has tried to bring to the table in the past few years. Comes off a bit forced to me but well, guess younger generations/gloryhunters buy into it (and buy the shirts too).
