NEEJ
He came on today, and showed he's got the best touch in the squad. Just a shame he's a knacker. Keep ya head screwed on lad! No chance of that happening like. If he wasnt such a headcase he'd be such a fucking midfielder.
Jayson
Based on yesterdays performances he was probably right to have a go at them. I think he reads the game better than either, prob gets frustrating as hell watching all the cock ups they make. He seems to have a similar attitude to Roy keane. Problem is he hasnt proven himself enough yet to be getting respect from others when he tells them what to do.
Ronaldo
to be fair, Coloccini may have looked lost at times but showed no lack of effort whatsoever yesterday

Guest sicko2ndbest
to be fair, Coloccini may have looked lost at times but showed no lack of effort whatsoever yesterday Correct, when Moore got the better of him in the box in a one on one (where Krul saved with an outstretched leg) you could see him chuntering to himself and looking at the sky as if to say 'come on son for fucks sake'

Mind you Colo had also lost his man as well cos he ended up a few yards off him.

Cajun
Joey probably thinks like the fans, unfortunately he gets close enough to some of the useless twats to call them it to their face.
TRon
If Barton actually played even 30% of a full season he might have a right to question other players attitudes. Seeing as he usually spends the major part of a season with his feet up watching telly he should probably just shut his ugly face and try and get some football under his belt. Guest Stephen927
Tried to carry the ball from midfield a few times but it was a bit hit and miss. Will be absolutely key to any promotion hopes we have this season, which is a bit worrying considering his injury record while here.

Dave
http://www.thepost.ie/breakingnews/sport/eycwkfididgb/ Barton denies bust-up rumours 09/08/2009 - 15:11:46 Joey Barton has rejected speculation that he fell out with team-mates ahead of Newcastle’s opening-day draw at West Brom yesterday. Rumours surfaced of a bust-up with between the one-time England player and Jonas Gutierrez, and if there had been an unwelcome incident it would have been the latest of several which have affected Barton’s career. Barton was also left on the bench by temporary boss Chris Hughton for the 1-1 draw at the Hawthorns, although he was introduced as a second-half substitute as Newcastle fought back to grab a point. However, on this occasion Barton has done little to warrant the negative headlines. “There was no disagreement between Joey Barton and any other player prior to the West Brom game,” said Barton’s personal spokesman Paul Tyrrell. “He totally accepted Chris Hughton’s decision to put him on the bench for tactical reasons yesterday and gave a typically committed performance when he came on as a substitute. “Joey is firmly focused on getting Newcastle back to where it belongs – the Premier League.”

Yorkie
Well, regardless of whether or not it - A, didn't happen... or B, did happen but has been swept under the carpet... atleast it's settled and they all played together yesterday. The heartening thing about yesterday was that for large spells we did look like a unit, and even if there was a fall out after the goal, atleast they give a shit. If the players had given a shit last season we'd have stayed up, cos there's more than enough quality. Same this season, if they give a shit we'll probs have a good shout at promotion. Guest Alan Shearer 9
We didn't look like a unit at all. We looked like a team full of players who are good at this level but not cohesive in any way. For all the possession how mnay dangerous crosses came off? The only real quality piece of play in open play was Duff's goal.
Guest firetotheworks
I fail to see how Barton is seen as our best midfielder, let alone our best player. Where's the evidence?
Guest timmy boy
I fail to see how Barton is seen as our best midfielder, let alone our best player. Where's the evidence? To be fair you could tell his vision and passing ability was better than his team mates yesterday during his brief cameo. Technically he is far above anything we have, only other play who looks nearly as comfortable on the ball in the middle of the park is Guthrie.
