'Bartons's greedy, Keegan's greedy, Shearer's greedy, Nolan's greedy, Carroll's greedy, Enrique's greedy...la,la,la,la,la,la,la,la,la not listening' ad f***ing infinitum.

Barton - Left for a much bigger wage than he merits

Keegan - The club were proven wrong here

Shearer - Contract was up, he hadn't exactly shown signs of being much of a manager to get us up, don't see an issue here.

Nolan - Left for a much bigger wage and length contract than he merits.

Carroll - We got a lot more than his market value, he got a massive payrise, joined a bigger club.

Enrique - Wouldn't sign new contract, joined a bigger club.

 some people are desperate to accuse others of burying their head in the sand :dontknow:

So they'll stick by Barton when he's been convicted off assault and spent time in prison, but because he has the temerity to say nasty things about them on twitter they decide to get rid - what utter babies they really are, the hyper sensitive pair of bulbs.

Joey can be top class, but he can also cost us games. He maybe a bit too similar to Cabaye anyway to play in the same team?

I doubt that is our motive. It also clearly worked fine on saturday

Nothing to do with the complete and utter lack of ambition at the club then? Thought not...

The Alan Carr and McDermott fetus show in effect, ladies and gentlemen.

These players (Barton and Nolan) left because we wouldn't give them contracts. What were they supposed to do? Make their own on Publisher and sign it themselves? Where they've gone and what they were on is irrelevant to me.

They were good enough for us and I don't think it'd have taken 60k and 80k wage rises to convince them to stay.

Didn't Ashley want Barton off the books in 2008 just before Keegan left but Keegan dug his heels in to keep him?

Did anyone say that about Shearer or Keegan? ??? the rest, except (imo) Enrique are true.

Carroll was "forced" out of being number 9 at his boyhood club beause £40k was too much of a struggle to live on.

Nolan went for the ever ambitious West Ham with their completely sensible and non dickhead owners.

Barton is pissing off to QPR

But no, we should have offered the same terms. Because we didn't there is obviously a conspiracy.

Like the we only buy to sell for a profit, we are raking in the profits from the sales of Enrique, Barton and Nolan.

£17m paid, £9m back, ah money, money, money!

Not quite sure who plays on the right with Barton gone - in a 4-4-2 or a 4-3-3 - despite us having loads of midfielders. Jonas? Ryan Taylor? Guthrie?

Your seeing it black and white, as many have said there is blame on all sides, your just ranting away, you have some valid points but they are being lost in your anger.

I agree with our stance on Nolan, his supposed demands were unreasonable,  Barton deserved a decent contract, not to be treated like shit (obviously stuck by him in priosn bla bla bla) we're far past that, one of our top players, he knows if he's being taken for a ride

Most of them won't be able to debate an issue and will offer daft smilies or crap personal insults as compensation for their inability instead.

I reckon Gosling, in a 4-3-3 as the tucked in 3rd central midfielder, in 4-4-2 as the tucked in wide player.

Nolan was contracted for 2 years, I can see why he needed to tie things up asap.

Also if Barton is as confidence in himself as he portrays you would imagine he would have no problem staying for the final year then having his pick of clubs? QPR are a massive club mind.

I'd guess Obertan. Possibly HBA?

Lost all respect for Barton after this. After all that self-promoting bullshit about grandeurs of top 6 teams he signs for f***ing QPR. Idiot.

The only team that were in for him...

Yet he could have stayed here for another year. It's not like he would be on the dole this time next year is it?

I dont understand why the conversation even gets swayed towards whether the players are right or wrong, or whether we should have matched the wages another silly club is willing to offer.

The issues are:

We are letting go of our key proven players with no solid replacements firmly lined up

Barton did not need to be made available for free a year early when having him would likely have helped both our level of success/turnover this season in all competitions

I am disappointed in him for going to a club like that, but football's a short career, they say they want rid, he gets a great offer, why the fuck would he say

football's shit, fucking clubs coming over to the north east, taking our players

wtf has where he's gone go to do with anything? I couldn't care less if he's gone to Barcelona or Blyth Spartans. He was a good player, he wanted to stay, he said he'd have taken a pay cut. We've pretty much told him to f*** off.

This situation has been blown way beyond our control and now we look like complete and utter fools (moreso when Barton starts letting his mouth go for real). It's been a disaster of a situation for the club.

the money thing again  :undecided:,i wonder how many 1st team players the club needed to sell to make some finally realize that it's not the player's fault that they leaving the club  :idiot2:

Even if every current squad member were to be sold and we were left with only Terry McDermott's fetus, Alan Smith and Graham Carr's sexually confused son, there would still be those avoiding blaming the two shitbags in charge.

Why would Barton join QPR if not for money? Their wildly ambitious signings that have made us "green with envy" © Mackems.

The told class players they already have in their squad?

World class manager?

He wouldn't be working for wankers?

He'd be performing in front of the supporters he 'loves'.

I assume you're just trolling, because that's a pretty stupid post.

How often do you think he actually interacts with them?

You don't have to personally interact with club owners to be subject to their shit stewardship (lies, fines, sacking good honest managers who have built a strong spirit and replacing them with your mate from down the casino etc). I don't see Ashley too often, for example.

Can't say I know much about their owners apart from spending a pittance so far this summer. Pretty sure whatever happens between now and the end of the window he would have been playing with better players and challenging higher up the table if he stayed here on the pittance he was earning,

Diverting from the original question you raised though. You asked why else, but for money, would he go. Working for owners with some integrity is a plausible reason.

Everything else is just opinion, speculation and, quite frankly, agenda!

From the personality of Joey we've been privy to via Twitter, on the pitch and various interviews - he holds himself in very high regard. He really does believe he is a person of integrity who makes mistakes, but ultimately is a pensive, philosophical and ethical person. The pattern of him leaving for non-monetary reasons fit what we know of his personality.

I am dead certain there are those who will read this and say "Joey is intelligent enough to have fooled you with this projected 'man of integrity' personality on Twitter" mind you  It's all guesswork, but judging from the personality we see on the pitch - he wears his heart on his sleeve in everything he does. He's uncompromising, it gets him into trouble, he's not always well liked, but he really does believe he is a good guy - and sometimes when you want to be a good guy enough, you end up being one!

[/final disclaimer - all guesswork/opinion, but nowt else on here isn't]

Barton didn't have to reject a 3-year contract at the club and publicly criticise his bosses.

I think HBA will be off the front man in a 4-4-2, Obertan wide of a front 3 in a 4-3-3, sometimes as the wide right player instead of Gosling depending on who we are playing in a 4-4-2, dont forget Marv too.
