Doctor Zaius
Remember watching Rothen for Monaco in the season they got into the CL final and he was suberb, looked excellant and seemed like he was destined to move on to bigger things, eventually he signed for PSG and it seems to have gone downhil from their. My Rangers supporting mate reckons he's crap too.

Excellent crosser of the ball.....but that was then (ie:5 years plus ago).

ads
Sounds like a classic case of us arriving too late for a player. He's way past his best like. Maybe would have been worth a punt 3 or 4 years ago.

STM
I expect the club to be quite "hush hush" about their business. Wouldn't shock me if we signed a couple of players out of the blue, like Kevin Nolan last January.
BeloEmre
ASTON VILLA have offered striker Marlon Harewood to Newcastle for a cut-price £1.5million. Harewood, 31, scored five goals during a loan spell at St James' Park but was sent back when Villa demanded a loan fee on top of the £28,000-a-week wages they were paying. Villa acted after realising Magpies were chasing Leeds striker Jermaine Beckford instead of going for their man. They have pitched the asking price at the same level as Beckford's current worth in the hope Newcastle will pick the experienced Harewood instead. Hull are also monitoring the forward's situation but have yet to make a formal bid. http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/sport/football/match_reports/championship/667751/VILLA-OFFER-STRIKER-TO-NEWCASTLE.html

cubaricho
Not that I buy it, but I would take Harewood at 1.5 over Beckford at anything.

I still expect a sriker, in some form, CB plus (optimism) a midfielder
Guest Roger Kint
Not that I buy it, but I would take Harewood at 1.5 over Beckford at anything. I know what i said in the Beckford thread but neither would be good value(unless we get Harewood for a minimal amount til June) above that, in theory £200k is a fair price for Harewood for this season, by no means longer
midds
Not that I buy it, but I would take Harewood at 1.5 over Beckford at anything. Not sure about that. He'd want a 3 year deal at £30k a week and would have a resale value of zero. Beckford would want less and we'd almost certainly get some money back when we sold him. Not particularly enthusistic about either tttt.
