Punk77
Messi is of course sublime, and a different sort of player. But the way Zidane just controlled games and dictated tempos was a joy to watch. He also was a master of ridiculing opponents. Standing still, just waiting for the opponent's move before making a fantastic dribble.
Guest Loven11
Newcastle United defender James Perch has seen his three-match ban reduced to one game after a successful appeal.

durhamunigeordie
Might be too late? I think the window for emergency loans for football league clubs closed yesterday. Have no idea if this is equally applicable to Gateshead though?
Guest Stephen927
Gateshead have until 5pm today I think to bring in someone else.

LooneyToonArmy
Probably a better pitch than some of the 5 a side pitches in England...nice story. -- Koh Panyee is a small village in Thailand that is entirely built on stilts over the water, that was created by the fishermen. In 1986, despite having no land or area to play football, they were determined to start their own football team and play the game. It is now one of the most successful youth soccer clubs in Southern Thailand, even though they have not even got an inch of proper/real land.

Interpolic
http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/mar/26/owen-hargreaves-manchester-united He must be completely fucking fed up. Aye, he's a footballer and he's still getting paid but to know you have the ability and not be able to get on the pitch must be heartbreaking. He's been there nearly 4 years now and I barely even think of him as a Man Utd player.

He's been there nearly 4 years now and I barely even think of him as a Man Utd player. This is it. You've got to feel for the lad. Absolutely gut-wrenching luck with injuries. His only hope is to have a solid pre-season someone and rebuild his strength up completely. He should go to a Championship team or something, with less pressure. Then again, he's exactly the sort of person we'd try and sign.
