Guest Roger Kint
Not seen it mentioned elsewhere but todays Daily Star is ruuning a story about Rijkaard touting himself for the Chelsea job if its available in the summer. The article reckons he turned down an approach from a Premier League club(names us) with his agent claiming it was 'a big club but at the wrong time' As if Ashley would have got him
Guest toonlass
Chelsea have announced that they have raised the top-level ticket price for next season. Games against bigger Premier League clubs will now be rated as AA and cost £87. Full story: The Independent Fuck right off Chelsea. It's £50 a ticket now and that's £20 too much already! Colocho
Lucky we aren't one of the Sky Four. How much do you reckon our match there will cost next season?

Apparently those £87 tickets cost £75 this season. Outrageous either way like, obviously.

Guest Roger Kint
Hughton on Talksport now if anyone is interested can't listen, whats he saying? Nothing much so far, just how it came as a shock getting sacked when he did although actually wasnt surprised he was. Some rubbish about fans who would rather lose playing good football over winning ugly but that has changed. Keys/Gray trying to push it further by saying Dalglish had us top of the league but that wasnt enough for us as it was boring...... Then 5 minutes about his 'Geordie hair' now its gome to a break
Guest Roger Kint
Now he is just sitting there as Keys/Gray spout shite about odds for this weekend. telling him theres a flood of texts and tweets to him(without reading most out) and asking when he is going to be back in management. Open to any offers even MLS but wants a job in England. Praising Calderwood for his work with us and now at Hibs. Asked his views on Tiote - Followed him for 2 years, Carr also knew him so was a joint decision to get him. He is a revelation in the Premier League, perfectly made for English football. Guest Roger Kint
Pretty much pointless interview, he has been there 40 minutes and barely had a chance to speak over these two tossers, now Paula Radcliffe is on as well and Hughton is forgotten in the background.... Guest Roger Kint
Whoa hang on - 'Chris do you ever feel tempted to run a marathon?' No, i hated running outside of a match. Guest Roger Kint
Carroll - Loves him as a player, great left foot, can be anything he wants to be etc. Says Carroll asked him for the number 9 shirt a long time before he got it. Says the fee was too much to resist and it was great business Thinks Newcastle should spend a few years as a stable PL club but have the basis to push on. Well at least that knocks on the head the ludicrous theory some still trot out, that Pardews appointment was in part down to Hughtons greater reluctance toward any deal for Carroll. Guest Loven11
Ghana's Michael Essien, an Africa Union Peace Ambassador, is organising a match between an Africa XI and World XI. The charity game, to help promote peace in Africa, is set to be played in the Ghanaian capital Accra on 25 May. The Ghana international will captain an African side that will include George Weah, Abedi Pele and Roger Milla. Essien's Chelsea team-mate Ashley Cole will captain the World XI, with England stars Shaun Wright-Phillips and John Terry also set to play. Other former African stars who are set to feature include Ghana greats Tony Baffoe, Tony Yeboah, Sammy Kuffuor as well as Morocco's Raber Madjer. Many current players like Samuel Eto'o, Didier Drogba, Nwankwo Kanu, Kolo and Yaya Toure, Salomon Kalou and Stephen Appiah have also confirmed they will be playing. As well as Cole, Terry and Wright-Phillips, many more players from European clubs have been invited to take part . The game is part of Essien's commitment to promoting and raising the awareness of peace in Africa using football. The funds raised from the game will be used to enhance peace initiatives across Africa. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/africa/9459241.stm

Well at least that knocks on the head the ludicrous theory some still trot out, that Pardews appointment was in part down to Hughtons greater reluctance toward any deal for Carroll. huh? the rumour, as you called it, was actually that pardew was brought in as ashley thought it would make it easier to flog players, specifically the higher earners, to reduce the wage bill and make the club more attractive to buyers in the future. this was a "rumour" that came from golfmag when he mentioned that pardew was being lined up weeks before the media got a sniff of anything going on. hughton's comments don't have the slightest bearing on whether or not there was any truth to that.
