Sima
Saunders is a proper weirdo. First that Brian Clough story and now this. Steven Taylor had already played for the first team before Souness arrived.
Yorkie
Dean Saunders coaching Shearer.
Thomson Mouse
Any word at all on who Man Utd are bringing on Sunday? It's going to be people like Pilkington, O'Kane and Cooke isn't it. Roy Keane would be quite amusing
Hanshithispantz
Taylor would have been 20 - not 17 - in 2006. A quick google would have told Saunders that, the fucking creep. By which point he'd also had about 2 dozen Premiership appearances for us.
Guest Jungle Barry
Didn't Shearer also sign a years extension in 2005? Seem to remember it being in the lead up to the infamous Villa game with the Dyer/Bowyer scrap. Steven Taylor was also sent off in that game. Bit of a fantasist is Saunders
Ronaldo
It's quite clearly an absolute load of shit. Not even Welshman Bellamy has any time for Saunders.

Guest
Things were looking decent then. We'd went on a good run even under Souness, were deep in two cups, Shearer extended his contract, then that Villa match happened.
M4
Was so typical a collapse and anti climax. The already slim cup hopes were in tatters.
Guest Howaythetoon
Didn't we win 8 games in succession or something?
Ronaldo
Yeah, only 2 in the league though, I think.
Guest
1 defeat in 18 in all comps from Jan 1st up to that Villa game, that was 1-0 away to Arsenal. 8 were league games.

Doctor Zaius
Unfortunately, Shearer's legs went a while before he retired. 33 goals in 84 games in his last two seasons. Not too shabby for someone who's legs had gone like...

He got a fair few goals against nonentity opposition but in the PL he just wasn't Shearer those last 2 seasons.

Anyone watching us in 04/05 could see how kluivert and bellamy were such a more effective partnership.

joeyt
Kluivert scored a lush backheel against Palace away from a Bellamy assist. One of my favourite goals
Guest
You just need to watch the Shearer: The Legend DVD. After the 03/04 season the majority came in Europe, cups, penalties, or lower opposition.
Figures 1-0 Football
Saw the statue up close the other week and agree it's better in person but I just cannot stand his left arm positioning. I can deal with the finger pointing, because he did it every now and again. But the state of that left arm
