Guest firetotheworks
What I dont understand is why he's come in an been given more of a chance than Ranger, despite having shown less than him.
Mick
That's certainly the way it looks so far. He's certainly been the weakest of the new arrivals. The weakest so far is either him, Pancrate or Van Aanholt.
TRon
Bit of a daft signing really. Not because he's particularly shite as he hasn't had much of a chance to show his worth, but because the likes of Ranger are now out of the picture when he clearly has made an impact whenever he's had some time on the pitch. Guest Heneage
On the one hand he has barely played on the other he is sick of the way we play Twisting me words man! I mean in the games he's played like today, he was getting in the air or down the line to chase, not one through ball.

He's far from being a solid defender, but looks a good footballer which the other two certainly don't.
Dinho lad
Don't want to have a go at the lad or anything...... but he seems to me like a needless signing.

He's far from being a solid defender, but looks a good footballer which the other two certainly don't. I didn't say he was bad, he's a defender who doesn't look too good at defending, he might be better moving into a more advanced position in future. We could have played him on the wing today and moved Jonas to cover for Routledge and by doing that we would have kept our balance.
TRon
I was disappointed Pancrate didn't start so we could have kept our shape and Guthrie in the middle. Worked out in the end I suppose.

midds
Looks poor from what I've seen of him. Nothing about his game looks Premier League. Or Championship for that matter...
Amir_9
The way people highly rate Ranger here, is a bit too over-the-top. Im not impressed with Best in the slightest, both him and Ranger are bench material anyway as far as striking partnerships are concerned, we dont have one by season, we have one by form because our strikers are inconsistent, one week their great, one week their shit (ANDY CARROLL LOL). and currently, as it is, Loven/Carroll partnership is the one in form. Best has got 10 league goals this season, albeit far more playing time than Ranger, but knows the league better than Ranger although that hardly really means anything. To be fair id stick with Best, and sub Ranger in at 60 minutes if Best has done nowt. The jury is still out on Best anyway, so far, not so good. Probably a fair assessment, but our manager has had ample opportunity to do the bit in bold & just doesn't seem interested in giving him the chance. Well, for starters it depends on how long Lovenkrands is out, if its lets say for a month, Id say give Best two games with the 60 minute exception, if he still does nothing special, start with Ranger, Shola should be back by then tho. toontownman
Best and Carroll are far to similar to be playing together, it wasnt working again today, one of them needs to be doing something different, I hope Hughton and Calderwood are on this.
