Guest Phil K
Are we allowed to say he isn't very good yet? Well, I got several abusive broadsides last week on this subject. No doubt some of those doing so then are probably saying exactly what I said last week THIS week ! (Its what they do)
stozo
He looks much better with the ball at his feet and in the channels in my opinion. The long ball game really doesn't seem to suit him at all.
Mick
Are we allowed to say he isn't very good yet? Give him time, he was good at Coventry, remember.

Amir_9
I would agree to "Give him time" if he had shown any glimpse of improvement, but he hasnt as of yet.
James
I think the trouble is that Carroll and Ranger are too similar to play together, albeit Carroll is the better goalscorer and Ranger is the better team player. However Carroll doesn't play well on his own, and Ranger relies on having Nolan nearby. Therefore we have Leon Best unfortunately. Should have got a PL player on loan instead though. Menace
I hope it was close to the 800k reported, rather than the £2M. He will probably get sold for £500k in the summer, I don't see how he's going to play in the Premiership when he's struggling in the Championship tbh. jdckelly
hasnt been good yet but then again some people take more time to adapt while moving clubs, I hope he can make some contribution, needs a goal soon imo just to settle his nerves the longer he goes without one the more nervous he'll get the shitter he'll get
Guest Stephen927
My gut instinct is he's a poor signing. Really hope he proves me wrong though, obviously.
TRon
Are we allowed to say he isn't very good yet? It would be better if you expanded on why he isn't very good though. Haven't seen him in action myself so it would be useful feedback.
Colocho
Did anyone honestly think it would be possible to have a transfer window where we'd be happy with all our new signings?

Doctor Zaius
We gave Ranger quite some time without complaints, and he hasn't delivered yet either (not given such a chance though). The difference is though Ranger is only a kid, prior to this season he hadn't played a senior game and is still learning his trade. Best is 24, he has experience and should be hitting his prime soon. Yorkie
Doesn't look particualrly quick to me. If he is, he hasn't got the first clue how to use it - as was demonstrated today. Literally no movement whatsoever. A casual watcher would say he's a lazy fecker, but i honestly just think he's a bit clueless as to where the balls gonna go. Mick
When we signed him he was described as having pace. Does he actually have any or were Hughton and his scouts wearing dark glasses on a rainy day? Alan Smith and kevin Nolan told Hughton that Best was quick. Maybe that's because he's playing with another target man in Carroll? I've only seen highlights but I've seen them both go up for the same cross at the back post a couple of times now. Carroll is scoring goals but other than that he's looked pretty awful as well most of this season.
jdckelly
who knows the brazil match midweek might be good for his confidence and that may help him kick start his carrer here. (straw clutching i know)
