54
This week's episode of 'The Spanish Football Podcast" is well worth a listen, has Gary Linekar as a guest talking about Barca, El Classico, Venables, Cruyff and all things Spanish football.

It just so often seems to be utter nonsense delivered in a peculiar way. He's Liz Truss levels of deluded when it comes to assuming some sort of faux authority over what he's talking about. The wanker.

Kid Icarus
I don't have the first hand knowledge to know whether I'm right in thinking this, but I'm only 15 minutes in to this podcast with Onuoha and it's brilliant.

Not listened. But he is consistently the best pundit around these days. Always measured and eloquent and seems worth listening to. Basically the opposite to most of the mainstream ones. I think the fact he isn’t playing a daft OTT character or just a complete OTT clown (Keane, Richards, Merson, Carragher etc) goes against him. He’s said previously he’s happy not too be a big name in punditry and prefers to be happy picking and choosing what he wants to do rather than being the big name. He’s all the better for it too. Always enjoy hearing him speak. Nearly always brings something different to the table whether you agree or not.
Lush Vlad
Got this TF end of season show on. As I do quite like all the local journos views and the format. But fucking hell. Even though I do agree with him at times. Craig Hope is awful. Can tell who he writes for just by the way he speaks. Massively exaggerates things all the while and spouts shit without any context or deeper thinking.

Charlies
This is great Gazza in fine form https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/the-rest-is-football/id1701022490?i=1000657864955 Edited June 5 by Charlies
NUFCDoog
Gazza is on good form like but was embarrassing that podcast from Linekar, Shearer and Richards. Pissing themselves every time he says anything and telling him how amazing he was etc, was a bit too forced for me.
Django
Just finished this, I think "a bit too forced" is underselling it, I found it excruciating at times. I'm not sure the long form interview did Gazza any favours.

Joelinton7
Don’t listen to the True-Faith podcast if you want a balanced view of the last couple of days. Full on saying PIF are done with us.

A lot of what they raised are perfectly valid concerns in fairness

Lack of communication, PIF as absentee owners (and potential waning interest), slowness in terms of commercials, training ground and stadium, that we were close to the brink on PSR and what that possibly says about the competence of some of those charged with running the club. I didn't agree with everything that they said, but they weren't exactly nonsensical ravings or owt. I've no idea re PIF's interest (no-one does - they don't actually say anything), but they suggested it showed that they may have had enough. Personally, it simply ties back to what I've always thought - this is a passive investment and always was from day one. I don't think this means PIF are looking to offload - what I could hear was the sound of people confused that this isn't what we 'signed up for', which is fair enough, but there's no evidence to suggest that PIF are looking to offload us. The Prophet
I agree that they could well be passive investors, but I also find the expectations of fans a bit mad. They bought a shell of a club and in two and a half years have increased commercial revenue by a healthy amount year on year, invested every penny possible into the playing squad and have redeveloped the training ground. They've gone well beyond getting the club back on its feet, with more to come, yet it's still not fast enough for some.

I’ve thought the same as you about PIF. They are interested and invested but it’s not a ‘win by all means’ situation like City have. Invested but definitely also passive(ish). I’ve never thought there’s a master plan to usurp the rules. We’ll do the best we can within the rules. I also agree that many seem to think we have geniuses running the ship. And even then competent people make mistakes too.

Staveley has fed into that with her win CL comments within 10 years or whatever she said. To do that you would expect more aggressive moves. Everything we’ve done has been fairly low hanging fruit. The hard stuff. Stadium, a lot of sponsorships - we’ve not done. The fans expectations are aligned to what the ownership have stated. It’s also why players like Bruno, Isak and Tonali joined. But the club have not followed through on the difficult commercial stuff. The owners did know worst case scale too we needed 30-50m for FFP. And my belief is we tried to sort it by selling Bruno. Or commercial deals that were too late.
