Absolutely baffling that a Newcastle podcast includes some Cambridge student with no connection to the club doing work experience on there, managing it around his already busy schedule of attending Extinction Rebellion rallies, ordering vanilla charcoal infused green tea soy lattés from hipster cafes and speaking to his emotional support Funko Pop about how just seeing an image of Donald Trump or Andrew Tate gives him anxiety attacks.

 

Oh, and the intro music is pure noncery as well.

I haven’t listened to it in yonks, but I’d rather an NUFC podcast where if Trump or Tate somehow came up they’re called out as the racist, misogynistic, fascistic (alleged) rapists that they are. No issue with calling a cunt a cunt. 
 

The issue with TF was MM selling out to a middle class Tory tosspot - the absolute antithesis of what fanzine culture was meant to be.  Alex Hurst writing pieces in the FT to tell the world what a happy little Cameron supporter he was - and MM still having the temerity to describe TF as ‘left-leaning’ - was the end for me.

The social climbers over at True Faith are amongst the worst of the lot and seem like a gaggle of cunts to boot.

Yeah, we did all kind of predict it would happen as well. I think a lot of people just haven't reckoned with the idea that they just aren't happy, as daft as that might sound.

It's also part of what makes All With Smiling Faces the best of the Newcastle podcasts. While this doesn't apply to their non-Monday night presenters and Chris is definitely a bit guilty of being a bit OTT, the others - Deka, Mark, and Besty really shy away from that and will give the team and Howe every benefit of the doubt while still being critical. 

 

I can't listen to any of the other Newcastle podcasts anymore because they're so often basically living on a different planet to me and speaking a different language.

They're producing content every single day and if you're trying to find topics to fill 7-10 hours of content every week, you're bound to pick apart everything and therefore give disproportionate airtime to the negatives. I had a bash at podcasting a few years back and quickly learned that it wasn't for me because what I have to say cannot fill the minutes required to constitute meaningful content. "Everything's basically pretty good, isn't it?" I don't love the True Faith lot and feel like they talk quite a lot of shite quite a lot of the time, but I respect the effort to some extent.

True Faith used to be really good but I find it really difficult to listen to these days especially when that lass is on (which seems to be every episode now) she offers very little in terms of game analysis. Hurst speaks very well but has definitely become a bit negative recently too. I find him alright though as he definitely understands what's happening in the game tactically and explains it well. 

 

Point made on this episode that annoyed me was that we should have focused more on City and Wolves games. I mean we've got through in the cup and the idea that we write Bournemouth off automatically means we win the other two is just ridiculous. I'm delighted we got through yesterday, get a favourable draw and this is another big opportunity 

 

As others have said GallowgateShots is by far the best podcast out there. I also like Musgrove on the chronicle podcast especially when he's with Gibbo or that Sam Milliner. There's a new lad on there Mark Carruthers I think? He seems decent too but too early to tell

I think if you're looking to do it for a job that's true, but I don't think it needs to be that way. We all talk endless shite on here for free.

 

I've considered doing it before but have always chickened out mainly because of the shit you'd have aimed at you, but it's never crossed my mind that it should be popular or that there should be any pressure to put out content. Once a week is more than enough imo.

aside from all with smiling faces I’d rather listen to our opponents podcasts (if we win) than listen to true faith etc

Hurst does speak well. But I’d rather go to my 18 month old for tactical analysis. Mentioned numerous times about Joelinton and ASM being left footed a few years back. What are you even watching to think that?! 
 

I listen to TF. They put out game reactions very quickly. Some stuff I agree with and some of them are fine on there. But it seems to be the same bunch of late. Charlotte is atrocious and always on. So many words and urms and errs without saying anything. There is a new’ish one who just moans about anything and everything. He also has an incredibly annoying voice, which makes it worse. Reminds me of Craig Hope

Yeah, similar to my view. I like both TF and GS but some of the guys on the latter are quite clueless about NUFC and football in general. Recent examples being Murphy was signed by Bruce apparently, saying that the top 3 in the table are Man City, Villa and Liverpool until one of them pointed out that they've forgotten about Arsenal who are top! Or when they say something like 'have we played Brighton yet this season?'....silence...then, no we've not played them yet so far, and all three agree on! FFS 🙄

not defending them but if you stuck me in front of a microphone and asked me minute details of nufc on the spot I’d struggle. I could not pin point results of many games from last season as my memory is shit but it doesn’t make me clueless about nufc. Granted it’s not ideal for being on a podcast

Listening to other teams podcasts who are struggling is fantastic. Love listening to Spurs fans at the moment its top tier stuff.

Am I the only one with zero interest in Newcastle podcasts? Much rather listen to stuff about other leagues or teams that I don't follow as closely. I find it more interesting to hear neutrals views on us as well.
