Guest Flatline
Fergie hardly sells good players (Stam is the exception). He obviously deems them surplus to requirements. McGrath, Beckham, Van Nistelrooy, Pique are a few he has sold. Add in Ince and Kanchelskis. Haha, Kanchelskis what the f*** did he do after leaving Man Utd f*** all. I'd say only Stam and Pique were mistakes, and Pique wanted to leave. He wouldnt have gotten as much first team football as when he was there Ferdinand was at his peak and Vidic was an incredibly strong player. Stam only left cos of a bust-up with the Nevilles iirc. didnt he call them a pair of busy c***s? McGrath was a pisshead and Fergie getting rid of the booze culture enabled to club to move up a level and win a dozen titles. He ultimately built a better more fluid side after RVN leaving, as good as he was. Kanchelskis was replaced with Beckham, speaks for itself despite kanchelskis doing well for everton. Ince leaving opened allowed Scholes-Keane midfield to form. Beckham was declining as a player and wanting to faff around in central midfield, fergie bought Ronaldo in as a replacement a few months later. probably one of his best transitions ever. that's the thing with SAF, he is always on the look out to rebuild and replenish the side, moving with the times, shifting deadwood and bringing in new talent. that's what sets him apart from someone like Mourinho, who has this kind of scorched earth policy of win at all costs in the short term and to hell with the long term. and that's why he lets players go, he has a very good instinct for transitioning his teams into new eras. agree with everything you said except that tbh.. PENKAAA
So does that mean Sunderland will get more cash if they aren't getting a player as part of the deal?
Dokko
He's a decent striker, would certainly improve them however the fee could be better spent, but after seeing who Bruce went straight in for (3 mancs) then it's probably a good thing as he'll buy someone utter fuking dire. Dokko
£16m? That means they've been well ripped off thinking they'd get £20m for him part ex.
Guest johnson293
According to various people on twitter, Brown and Gibson have agreed terms with Sunderland, but no word on O'Shea.

I'd like to think our backups if we fail with those bids are still better than that lot though, don't rate any of them. Thought Brown was decent at RB about 3 years ago and Gibson occasionally hits a belter but still don't think they would do well if we signed them.
