mrmojorisin75's reaction to that section of your post. In what way do we have the backing and resources of a title challenger?

Facilities I'll probably give you, just about.

Would take Bougherra & Davis.

Bougherra was impressive at the WC and would be a gd addition and Davis is a cracking little player

Just what was said in his interview this morning, mainly about him getting back into the France squad.

He flew out to Tunis tonight with the Marseille squad for their Charity Shield match, so doubt there'll be any major updates until Thursday now.

Would love to get him on loan, possibly with a fee to buy. Couldn't see him coming here permanently, not yet anyway, if we have a decent season and stay up then maybe I could see it. Would also be able to wash our hands of him if he ends up being shit. Wishful thinking is fun.

Even if it was just on loan, gets enough goals and assists to keep us up a la Cisse at Sunderland and then buggers off next summer, it'd be an excellent deal.

Definitely, as a loan signing there really is no downside I can see.

No bids for either Jlloyd Samuel or Andy O'Brien. Target is an overseas defender: frustratingly I don't have name.

On Ben Arfa: someone is pushing #nufc's name forward as interested but club officials have not met anyone from Marseille.

Headline says, "Newcastle wait". (updated about 20 minutes ago)

"We knew there was a meeting due Monday between Newcastle & Marseille representatives, but according to the AFP (French Press Agency), the meeting was cancelled as the English couldn't produce a "document" required by the French club".

Either they're backtracking, or we've screwed up somewhere.

Probably proof that they represent NUFC.

I imagine the "document" was a signed cheque of the amount Marseille wanted on it.

Reading the comments from French fans underneath these articles, quite a few have been saying Newcastle would be a good move for him.
